It's looking likely that BYU plays Clemson and Texas Tech

hearing this news 3-4 weeks ago from my source - and now seeing several others report the same thing - has me pretty sold that this is gonna happen.

I think the scheduling problems are now gone. Funny how the MWC boys are trying to pretend like BYU is going to fail with independence, while the AQs school are virtually inviting us into the club. Is that a thank you for making sure that the MWC is not the 7th BCS conference?

Not only Clemson and Texas Tech, but Notre Dame is looking for a late season game on a yearly basis.

It shocks me that everyone can be acting like our schedule is going to take a hit.



On CBC-C they were just ripping into BYU, and talking about how difficult it would be to schedule "big boy after big boy."



Gee, in case anyone hasn't noticed, BYU has been playing around 2-3 BCS teams - at the MOST - ever since they were in the MWC. We've already got that for 2011.

Looks like that HD truck is going to get alot of usage (assuming I have any idea what the heck all this means. :-)

I know, I know... It's Jay Drew's tweet, so take it for what it's worth. I only mention it cause it's along the lines of what Italics had already said.

Look for #BYU fb to schedule Clemson, Texas Tech in the not-so-distant future. Source tells me discussions ongoing with Tigers, Red Raiders

Clemson looks to have a full schedule for the next several years. I don't know.

Once again, Italics reveals his "inside info" only after others have hinted at it openly on the forums, although italics claims that he had this info "weeks ago" but for some reason sat on it until others leaked it to the internet and only then decided to jump on the insider bandwagon.



Not to mention he previously said the original source could be CougarBoard for all he knew. Sounds like a plausible theory to me.



I'll buy you as an insider when you provide something that others haven't already come to the table with.

I would not be at all surprised if there were a concerted effort by BCS powers-that-be to (reluctantly) let a few of the top non-AQ teams into the BCS party to avoid having to bring another entire conference in.

I knew BYU was close to scheduling Clemson and TTech nearly a month ago. At first I thought maybe you were just being cautious, but now it appears that you are just being plain stubborn to admit that I had legit sources. If you actually showed a bit of humility I might show you the original source's words. Pretty sad for someone your age.



PS - If you truly do think I'm just repeating rumors I read, than you have pretty poor logic skills. There have been dozens and dozens of rumors on cougarboard for the past 1-2 months. I've met all of them with great skepticism, save for two: Independence with non-football in the WAC, and now Clemson/Ttech. I guess you think it's just a coincidence that I picked the ones that ended up being true (or at least most likely being true)? You stick with your job: which is keeping the website running well. I'll stick with mine: which is proving that I actually have an idea what the hell I'm talking about.

Good find, thanks. Hadn't seen that earlier (or maybe it just hadn't been tweeted yet).



Don't be surprised if UCLA shows up on our schedule at some point in the near future as well. ASU most likely will not be showing up (not a huge surprise considering they recently pulled out of their contract with us). Clemson fulfilled our "east coast team" slot... most likely they'll be the only east coast team - if there IS another east coast team we schedule soon, keep an eye out for it to be Syracuse, Boston College, or possibly USF (or maybe it was UCF, don't remember).



TCU and AFA are also on the table. I'm sure sno will just tell me "yeah that's obvious," but nonetheess, it is what it is.



A lot has changed, so I'll try to get an update.

Mars, you must have poor logic skills to think that because Italics only posts his insider info after it has become widely rumored by reputable known insiders that might mean he's an imposter. Didn't you read where he claimed to know "weeks/months ago"? If only you believed him already, then he would give you proof to make you believe even more.

H.B. Arnett, if I remember correctly, made his prediction long before August 9th, which is when I originally posted what I knew (and even then I had had the info for a bit of time).



Not sure what these "dozen" Ttech and Clemson tweets "popping up everywhere" that you're referring to. I saw the one quoted earlier after the fact, but that's about it. Then again, I'm not carousing websites 24/7 like you, either.

Sounds like someone's frustrated that they've been clueless every step of the way so far. You keep making estimated guesses, I'll keep being correct.

Lawboy is right, I've kind of taken a hands off approach here because they are capable of taking care of themselves, but I've seen enough of it on the forum and don't want to see any more, keep it in private message.

What I'm seeing is kindergarten behavior. Who cares about "sources"? It's great that you share your information, and I love reading about the possibilities. I see no reason for any of you to belittle others for passing on interesting discussion topics. Just keep it civil.

Thanks Iowa. I've said from the beginning that nothing I've shared is "guaranteed" or "100%" I'm simply sharing what I've heard from people who have - so far - proven to be correct about many things - including our recent series set up with UCF.
