No, we're still going to Vegas for our conference tournament. We just won't be playing a team that is very good on their home court. It'll be a truly neutral tournament.

I'm pretty sure that's what he's meaning... I for one am also very excited to not be playing that tournament on UNLV's home court.

I know. I just wanted to make the distinction. I really have no problem playing a conference tourney down in LV. I just wish the MWC would have put it on a neutral floor.

We really need to win @ UNLV this year, for closure's sake.

I'm willing to play on Gonzaga's home court of 4,000. Since BYU fans will make about 2500 of them.

This is probably the brightest gem of the announcement for basketball's sake. the WCC is probably saying, you played where for your tourney every year?

I thought it was interesting that Katz implied that the WCC might keep the same format of their tournament starting on Friday, but then not playing the final until Monday with Sunday being an off day.



I wonder if BYU might have beaten UNLV a few times over the years if they didn't have to play three consecutive games. UNLV was the team sleeping at home and could draw on the crowd's energy. Maybe a day off was what BYU needed and will now get in the WCC.

That is the second best part of this whole deal as far as I'm concerned. The VI has been the third biggest ripoff in the sports world. The second is the MTN, and the first is the BCS. The fourth biggest ripoff is Craig Thompson, who is responsible for numbers two and three.

Well said. Saw all of this last year's tourney, for the first time, except for the chump-ionship game and it was a great environment until the UNLV game. If i hear one more "Rebels" chant, I will cut on myself. I think i learned to hate UNLV fans as much or more than Max hates Utah fans.
