College Football season has finally arrived! Along with that are many of the fun games that help to get us through the week and on to Saturday for kick-off. With membership growing here at CougarCorner drastically over the last year we wanted to implement a new weekly prognostication thread. The predictions game strictly deals with the BYU football game. This new weekly thread will be an opportunity for CougarCorner members to show how well they know the rest of the conference teams. We have chosen a panel of "Experts" to chose who they think will win each conference game on a weekly basis.
For this year our panel of experts consists of five people. Those five are names you will probably recognize. One is a former BYU football player, Mark Staffieri. Mark has contributed on multiple BYU fan sites with columns, open forums, and other interactive opportunities to discuss BYU football. We are please that he has accepted our offer to be one of our "Experts" for this year. Our next "Expert" is someone who many I am sure will recognize. McGregor has been a long time poster here at CougarCorner and also has a long history with many people here today. McGregor has always been a great source of inside information and more recently has been contributing on a more general basis to this forum with his vast wealth of football knowledge. Again we are glad that he has accepted the offer to also be one of our experts. Finally, the final three experts will be the three moderators of these forums, Hawkwing, Snoscythe, and myself.
Now here is the fun part for you as CougarCorner members. Each week we will list the experts picks. When that thread is started you will then also have the opportunity to list your picks for each game. At the end of the season someone will have the honor of being crowned the 2010 Pick 'em winner. The person with the best record will have off-season bragging rights. Also if the non-expert winner has a better record than at least one "expert" then come next football season, if they so choose, he/she will be invited to join the panel of experts for the 2011 football season. In the future we hope to have picking side by side to the 2010 Pick 'em winner more former players or other notable BYU Alumi. So good luck this season and start making your picks!
All picks must be submitted before the kick-off of the first scheduled game. All games must be picked for all games scheduled that week. Any game that does not have a selection picked by the first scheduled games kick-off will count against your record as an incorrect pick. At the first kick-off the thread will be locked and no more picks will be able to be made for that week.
