Does BYU deserve a preseason top 25 rankings or should we accept the "others receiving votes"?

It's justifiable that BYU moves down in the rankings from last year (lost qb, te, rb, etc.) EXCEPT if you look at all the BCS teams that are ranked super high like Texas, Oklahoma, etc. That's the problem, someone can justify leaving BYU off the top 25, but if we simply had a different conference affiliation there's no way we'd get left out after 4 straight top-25 finishes.

Who cares. Let's see how we play this week.

With all the questions we have on offense, I'm not surprised to be in the "other receiving votes" section. I don't think it's a diss on BYU. I also think that if BYU had been in the Big 12 for a couple years, this wouldn't be an issue and the ranking would be high teens or low 20s this year.



But like Mendenhall says, the rankings in the first 6 weeks are meaningless. Unless you're Boise St. Then they're actually quite important, as long as you keep winning.
