Y 4 EverIf the WAC is willing and excited to take BYU as a non-football member, why would they stop there? And if BYU is considering joining the WAC for non-football sports, then obviously their primary concern isn't the football strength of the conference, it is the other sports, primarily BBall.
So, what if the WAC were to make moves to strengthen its BBall reputation by inviting additional non-football members - such as, oh, say, Gonzaga and St. Marys from the WCC? That way, BYU's other sports can land in a league with better visibility, that has been bolstered by some strong BBall programs.
Just a thought. Wonder if something like that is in the works...
