Okay, so we're in trouble if Payne is hurt, as Stephensen in not a kicker. But Payne is very dependable inside of 35 yards, and almost always nails his PATs. Hooray for Justin Sorensen's return next year!
Stephensen himself put on muscle weight this summer. His kicks are booming farther than ever before. The only concern is the dreaded out-of-bounds kick, which may also still happen from time to time.
Trick plays is an interesting subject at BYU, mainly due to the lack of them. At least we've tried fake field goals and fake PATs in practice. Let's run up the score on Brady Hoke this year! :D
Penalties isn't much of a concern on defense, but the younger offensive players need to learn their timing and rulebook better.
Most exciting to me? Punt and Kick Returns! The pool of interested players has never been deeper than it is this season:
O'Neill Chambers, JD Falslev, and JJ DiLuigi. Yeah baby! I think our boy O'Neill may even fair-catch one or two this season. Or at least cradle-catch them.
Also fighting for time are guys like Jacobsen and Hoffman.
