The Big Blue Bash

Man I just wrote up this huge synopsis of it and then I lost my internet connection and lost the entire post.



A much more brief...



Bronco: The team is full of very hard working, good kids. It's hard to get into BYU and hard to fit into the atmosphere, but these guys have all made sacrifices to do so. Because of their hard work and determination these guys can take on any team in the nation and will do so. He also said he doesn't care what conference, if any, the team plays in. As long as they are on a TV channel people can actually watch. His goal is to get the kids on the team and the university the exposure they deserve.



JJ Diluigi and Brian Logan also spoke. They say the team is coming along very nicely and they are pumped up for the season. They know they are young, but they believe that they can have as much success as last year, if not more. Logan also shared a story about a recent team meeting. They arrived and none of the main coaches where there, but the assistants starting railing on them for bringing their cell phones to meetings and texting. So they made everyone put their phones in their locker and told them it would be the wrath of Bronco if a single cell phone was in the meeting. Once everyone was ready, music started pumping, the song YMCA. Bronco, Jaime, and others came out dressed as the village people and danced around. The reason the coaches were so concerned about cell phones obviously! So, as Greg Wrubell said, if we find out that Logan is benched for the first half of the Washington game for "disciplinary reasons" we know why.



Holmoe spoke, didn't really touch on the issues we'd all love to know about, other than to say he's working hard, and it's been a hard week. He went on to say that the only way to greatness was to go through Hard.



Chad Lewis also spoke, he's pumped up. Works with the guys all the time. Thinks these guys are going to have a tremendous year and we need to stick with them even when there are rough patches because of youth and inexperience.

Oh yes, a few other quick things.



Bronco on the QB: Does he know who the starter will be? No. Is he opposed to a 2 QB system? No. Do some of the fans not like that? Yes. Does he care? No.



Logan also talked about how he came to BYU. Having had a scholarship to SDSU before having it suddenly revoked. Luckily the receivers coach there was a good friend of Jaime Hill and called him up and asked him to take a look at Logan and see if we could find a spot for him. He also talked about how playing in front of 65,000 fans was just a little bit different from playing in front of 50 at the Juco days. And during the Utah game last year when he cramped up and couldn't get up off the field, the crowd started chanting his name and he said it was just an amazing feeling. And just how much the crowd affects the energy of the defense.



Both players talked about how important it was to keep wearing blue.

So how much time does Chad Lewis spend on campus these days? Last I heard he got in a fight with manti teo or chuck Norris or something like that and stormed off. Does he have a coaching position yet?

It's probably a good thing that Chad isn't on the coaching staff, this way he can work out with the players through the summer. But he will be eventually, or in the AD office. The man is an absolute BYU homer stud.
