How Many of these Texas Games will BYU Win?

And we know this because Texas and BYU have played each other so often in the recent past... BYU just has no hope at all to possibly win all three games cause Texas is in the Big12 and the players they recruit are just so much better, a la Oklahoma ;)



Now I'll admit that I don't think it likely that BYU would win all three games, two would be pretty amazing, but seriously, how do you know how good Texas's (and BYU's) football team is going to be in the future?

I voted all three because before each game is played I'm optimistic BYU will win it. What fun would it be watching a game where you're certain BYU is going to lose? Sure there's disappointment when BYU does lose, but even if I thought they would lose and they did I would be disappointed. So what's wrong with having the viewpoint of the optimist? Does it make me a homer? I guess, but guess what? I'm a BYU fan, and I love to watch them play. So I'll just say that there isn't much wrong with being a homer when it comes to your favorite team, as long as you show respect for other teams (Except :utard: of course, and maybe Fresno and Reno).



BTW: Do you think that the BYU football team ever goes into a game believing they have no shot? Maybe under Gary Crowton, but not under Bronco.

The people that voted for 0 or 1 wins are serious pessimists. BYU has a TON of good young talent that will have matured by the time they play the games and each recruiting class is better than the last. We always have a shot to win these games and we play well vs the Big XII - II. You say to be realistic, and I say to have FAITH! :crazy:

Props to you for taking a hard stand on an opinion, Raider, that's hyphy. And realistically, I'd have come to the same dire conclusion about our chances, but I looked at it another way.



The people that voted for non-AQ's over AQ's in 2 or 3 of the four BCS games are serious homers. The BCS has better football teams most years period. If there's ONE thing the BCS has taught me, it's that the only difference between "them" and "us" is cashflow. Because they're getting beat everywhere else.



Texas has a better football team most years period. Okay, like last year? Obvious answer? Uhh, yeah. They played for the national title. 'Cept in the two games against common opponents, BYU looked better than Texas did. Same conditions, I'd say even leaning Texas' way a bit. The "neutral" Oklahoma game wasn't so neutral for BYU, and we played toe to toe with a Heisman Trophy winner for a full half, not just 5 minutes. Both teams lambasted Wyoming at Wyoming, true, but Wyoming was in it at halftime against the Horns. Wyoming was 4 1/2 touchdowns in the hole at halftime against the Cougars. Do I think, based on that kind of flimsy reasoning that BYU WOULD have won had they played Texas last year? No. I don't. Do I think the Horns were better? Duh, yeah. But do I think that we could have been in it? Damn straight I do.



BYU against the cream of the Big12 crop between 2009 and 2014? Why NOT three of four? It's more objectivity than mere homerism. It's more confidence than mere optimism. BYU has shown, over the last 4 years, that we CAN put together a big win, even against a big name. Heaps could have a Ty v. Miami type game in Austin next year. Then Heaps as a senior, HOSTING the Longhorns? THAT'S a game I'd give at LEAST even money for. 2 out of 3 is MORE than possible. Give the team some credit.

It's too bad we can't get one of those games in Austin moved to Dallas. Still a "home" game for the Longhorns, but neutral enough give us a better chance.

Ok so I am curious what BYU fans think after you signed on to play us. You will win absolutely 0 games realistically. Yes, I'm sure I'll hear, well what about OU. Give me a break, Stoops was an idiot not changing his game plan and his offensive line was way overrated.



Yes, you can talk about all your "talent"...how many of your players would start for the Longhorns? Hmmm ... 1 maybe. Cannot wait to see the beat down you will receive next year just to wake ya'll up a little. Wait till you see our TALENT, and yes, there is plenty of it as I'm sure you know.

I grew up in Texas, have followed Texas football throughout the years (even though I went to BYU), most of my family and friends are longhorn faithful, and season ticket holders, and I probably know as much about the Texas football team as most Texas fans. I've had one on one experience with Mack Brown to know he's a class act and a good man. However, even though I know that you're don't represent Longhorn fans as whole, the above post pissed me off, and is about as classless of a post that I can think of. Loud mouths like you are the reason Texas fans are thought of as arrogant. Unless you have something to add that's beneficial to our discussions, please stay away. You're an embarrassment to yourself, your state, and the team you root for.

2 is somewhat realistic if our recruits turn out as good as expected.



0 and 3 are pretty unrealistic... yet still obviously in the realm of possibility.

Even if we did win all three games, we wouldn't troll Texas websites and be total assholes about it, so it looks like we've already won.

I dont' know but beating them in 2013 is going to set us up for a title run :crazy: It will be similar to what happened when we beat ou. we were catapulted to number 9 and if we had won out we probably would have played in the title game after beating tcu and utah. at least would have most definitely been in the running anyway.
