What's your gut feeling...

...about what is going to happen with BYU/Indy/MWC?



Here's my thoughts:



BYU stays in the MWC. The MWC and the mtn cave, give BYU rights to arrange broadcasts for their own home games, with the concession that they pay a % of the proceeds to the MWC (say 10% - you know, for tithing). The MWC invites either USU (hopefully - I feel like we owe them some help) or Houston to be the 12th member, and plays a CC game. And BYU gets stuck in a division with freaking Fresneck and Reno forever. And the MWC doesn't get an auto bid, but it doesn't matter that much, because the conference champion gets in every year anyway.



That's what i think happens. Your gut says...?

Perhaps all that you said, but in the end, BYU to the Big12 and all is right with the world.

My gut is feeling like it wants me to walk into the kitchen, pull out a pound of bacon, fry and eat it ALL!!!

My gut tells me that BYU will stay in the MWC with AQ status being granted after we have assembled a "who's who" of mid major football universities. We may not be around to enjoy the fruits of our labors, having built the MWC from the ground up, but we will be smiling down on the MWC from our perch in the big XII two years from now.



My gut tells me that either independence or a reworked agreement for broadcasting rights will yield the same result in the near future, a big XII invite.

I know a BIg XII invite (if it is to happen at all) is still a ways off, but I like the fact that we are getting friendly with Texas. The two for one deal that we just signed with them makes me optimistic.



I have confidence that whatever BYU ends up doing in the coming days/weeks will be a stepping stone to something greater in the future.

I hope that BYU is inviting reps from texas up to view our on-campus broadcast facility, and is providing all the free consulting they want. That's one thing we can offer to Texas (who, lets face it, IS the Big 12) that NO ONE ELSE CAN! Leverage your assets.
