All I can say is that this BYU move has absolutely raised the profile of the university the last several days at least for the short term. This is national stuff, ESPN is running MANY stories on it. Other sports agencies are as well. BYU is the talk of CFB right now because of this. BYU is showing that they can capture--and hold--the national spotlight. Just hope the Big 12 is paying attention.

Something seems to tickle me that there is more behind the reason then "getting out" to get the better TV deals. I suspect that there is an invite to be givin soon from the Big 12. IIRC there is an issue with NEB and COL leaving and possibly not paying the exit fees etc. That an invite to BYU would mitagate the damages and cost the conference a lot of money. And with BYU having no ties, they could accept any invite without the year wait starting next year.
