Prelude to Big 12 invite? Wonder if ESPN is behind this as well. I know Texas is getting cozy to us to learn about the broadcasting center, so perhaps we are sharing some details in how ops are run in exchange for the games?

It is now official. 2013 and 2014 games after we play 2011.

So this is two separate contracts right? Is this a one-and-done and a home-and-home? Or just a delayed two-for-one?

Who cares. It is 3 games v. Texas, and I am all for it. I am zero problem playing 2 games in Texas either, because if we have TCU on schedule, that means more Texas games, and that helps recruit Texas kids. BYU has done extremely well in Texas the last 2 years, and has more offers from Texas kids out for 2011 and 2012. The recruits will now get a shot at Texas, and perhaps a game or 2 in Austin. I love this relationship. Bodes well for a Big 12 invite as well. Having Texas on our side matters.



By the way, this is front page ESPN. I know ESPN helped broker this as well. I still think ESPN wants BYU indy, and wants that Texas-BYU game in Provo on its network. No way do I see Texas-BYU on the MTN. Will not happen.

Yeah, I think this solidifies the BYU going indy talk. I wonder what other games ESPN can help BYU broker? A home-and-home with Texas A&M? Oklahoma St? Nebraska? Missouri? Kansas?
