BYU vs. BSU ESPN Polls

It features such questions as "Which is a more prestigious college football program, Boise State or BYU?"

And under "Notre Dame in 2010" a poll is there for "Which football program is in better shape at the moment? BYU or Notre Dame. BYU is up 63% to 37% with 1,009 votes so far.

Intersting polls. Anybody think this is ESPN's way of trying to determine a few things like--

Fan interest in BYU generally

Fan interest by byu fans ( not sure how they separate/determine byu fans from non)

How big of a media story is this in relation to other college sports news on espn?

How good of a bet is BYU for ESPN?



Or is this poll just a warm enough topic to put up a poll.

I saw this a few days ago but didn't post it because I didn't think it relevant necessarily but your suggestion is interesting in that perhaps ESPN uses these to gauge any number of things.

I was a little surprised because as much as the BCS conferences crap on the non-AQs I thought there would've been more support from fans.
