My Conspiracy Theory

So I went to bed P.O.'d last night because I thought that the MWC was screwing us. But then I figured it all out. Stay with me on this.



BYU knows about a BIG 12 invite coming their way soon.



BYU saw Utah leave in a jerk way by taking their record with them and BYU doesn't want to leave in a jerk way. So they come up with an Independence scam to solve all the problems. They know that Hair Thompson is a jerk and that he will try to foil BYU's plans.



Meanwhile BYU is pressuring the WAC to create this 5 million dollar exit penalty last Friday.



BYU then leaks information about the WAC and independence to some person at Utah State and tells him not to say anything. BYU of course knows that Utah State people are jerks and that he will leak the info right away.



Hair being the jerk that he is freaks out and immediately invites Reno and Fresno to try and screw BYU. BYU knew he was going to do this. The reason they did it was so that the MWC would gain 2 teams to replace BYU and Utah.



The reason BYU masterminded the WAC exit penalties is so that the WAC would be 10 million dollars richer and use that money to get replacement teams.



So in the end BYU is in the Big 12. The MWC is a 10 team league. The WAC is 10 million dollars richer and Utah, Utah State and Hair are still jerks.

I just hope BYU table-topped the scenario that evolved last night -- where the WAC gets raided in the 11th hour by the MWC leaving BYU to look to the WCC or CUSA.

I dont' think they did. I think they had a deal with the wac and nevada and fresno completely went back on that deal. heck i think it was fresno who presented the deal to the wac last week. it was in place but when hair said we will pay for it, come here, it was done. nevada and fresno were looking out for number1 and they broke the deal. now independence doesn't look as appealing and they are deciding now if they are going to go forward.



that is my opinion, but holmoe may know something I don't. one thing i don't believe is that byu is getting a big12 invite anytime soon. maybe in 2016.

I think your scenario makes BYU look like an even bigger jerk. If you are going to leave, do so graciously, not trying to make it look like this.



If there is a conspiracy, it is that BYU got the MWC to expand and add teams like FSU and Nevada, and potentially Houston, and now all non-BCS buster type teams reside in 1 conference. Coach Patterson sure seems to act like he knows something, that is certain. Big 12 needs to actually have 12. Once the Colorado buy out issue is resolved, they add 2 more teams. BYU and TCU make sense. Or BYU and someone.

I just hope BYU was bright enough to think that far ahead. Conspiracy or not ,i hope they drew out multiple scenarios and anticipated this happening and have a way of creating the end effect they wanted.
