What is Plan B

So BYU works out the possibility of making independence work with ESPN and the WAC as partners. The MWC counterattacks by taking Nevada and Fresno St, leaving the WAC currently unavailable as a conference landing spot. So now BYU must have plan B. Here are some possibilities:



1. BYU forges ahead with independence with ESPN only. We look elsewhere for a conference partner.

Here we hopefully increase revenue and exposure.



2. BYU helps the WAC broker deals with other teams to return the WAC to an 8-team football league so that BYU can continue with the WAC as a partner. Here we may increase revenue and exposure.



3. BYU stays in a bigger MWC and helps to renegotiate a new TV deal. Here we might increase revenue.



4. BYU stays in a bigger MWC with the same TV contract thereby not increasing revenue or exposure.

I'm down with option 1 and joining the West Coast Conference. They'd have great road trips as the schools are all in major metro areas (plus Spokane). Three schools are in the Bay Area, plus Portland and then San Diego and two schools in Los Angeles, and if they may bring Seattle University in. Not too bad of an option I think...

Hate to say it but I think number 4 very well could end up

being the outcome. Please say I'm wrong!

I was all for this idea until i realized that it wouldn't work because the WAC was going to give us hard to find games for football in October and november but for bball it would be awesome!
