Cougarfan87Just a thought, but why not start a new conference with the best of both. You think Boise State, TCU, BYU, Fresno State, Nevada, Air Force, Houston, and SMU/UTEP/someone else would not be a pretty great conference? Since everyone is in the changing mood and all. We could call it the big 8. How would this play out in BCS evaluation? Do they just count the teams records, or is there some tie to an existing conference?
Advantages--Seven good to quality teams already on schedule.
Also have the freedom to schedule five other games how you wish.
Disadvantages--There is no TV deal or bowl tie ins in place, though I think they wouldn't be hard to come by.
BYU could be more savy this time and establish its own TV station as part of the deal and the ability to kick out bottom feeders.
