I saw this earlier and I found it interesting that his deadline for his special deal is the 24th. You'd think it would be the last day in August or September 1st, I wonder why this is?

Because if he's right, things will really be swirling by then. Wants people to get in with a week to spare before it becomes (in his opinion) more obvious.

The guy knows NOTHING. He has ad space on his own site, and I bet if he ups his subscriber base, he can change more for ads. just a ploy to make himself more money with zero risk, other than his credibility, which at this point is ZERO anyway. Name 1 piece of good scoop this guy has ever delivered on?!

One way or another, we'll find out next week, right? Awfully nice of him - we now know exactly when the mocking shall begin. :D

Does this guy have an email address where one could verify the offer?

I don't think it is strictly independent, I think his claim is BYU will announce that it will be leaving the MWC by September 1. So that could be independent or Big 12.

My honest take:



- I continue to stand firmly by my opinion that BYU ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT be announcing a move to the Big 12 this summer... a move that big is not going to just come out of thin air. We would be hearing about it a lot if it were that close to happening



- I believe BYU will make an announcement before Sept. 1 that will both fuel and point toward going independent, but it will not be an official "going independent" announcement within itself.

I fully expect the "Big Announcement" to be disappointing after all of the anticipation.



We're thinking something grandiose, and I expect something much smaller that, like others have mentioned, will only fuel the fires that "something bigger is about to happen."



I'm hoping for something big, but expecting something small. And no, that's not what she said!

I agree. Kind of reminds me of last year when BYU was able to go around The Mtn and put a couple basketball games on BYU-TV. Big deal.
