Rumor of Big Announcement

He says there is going to be a big announcement made about byu and byu's business partners that will help byu football whether its about independence or not.



Just thought I would pass it along. I assume some will be annoyed with any link to rumorboard. to those, i am sorry. I like hearing what intelligent people have to say though.

I don't know what this guy on Cougarboard is talking about exactly but I do know this, something is going on behind the scenes and wheels have been in motion for some time that will be very important in the history of BYU athletics.

I don't know the guy, he may be right on, may not be. All I know is that his post is pretty incoherent. But I'm excited for something new and great. Hope it happens.

So... lawyers and other contract experts could BYU buyout/break the mtn tv deal, but stay in the MWC? Then they could play home games on their new super channel? Is that even feasible? Or does a break with the MTN require a break with the MWC? I could see the best of both worlds if the first option was somehow possible.



Cause i assume the mtn deal is with the conference and not necessarily with each member institution?

it looks like this article is only referring to byu in its attempts to advertise for itself. I think alone it does not make a ton of sense but coupled with some strategy that hopefully we will become privy to soon it will make more sense. this coming out makes me believe more that there is something in the works.

I have read this article over and over and I still don't quite understand it. Would somebody smarter then I please come to the rescue?



But from what I understand it is like Lingo says. It's BYU advertising for itself in the Utah market? But I don't understand what this company actually does...

Since when does BYU Athletics Cable Television exist? Is this just code for BYU-TV?

Yeah we need somebody to clarify this for us. The title makes it seem as if Ad Systems will be in charge of advertising for a BYU sports channel but the article makes it seem as if Ad Systems is in charge of advertising for BYU athletics in the Utah market.

Why do you advertise, unless you are trying to drive traffic to your location? BYU Athletics could advertise to sell tickets, or it could advertise to drive people to its CABLE station. It did say BYU Athletics Cable Television, so I think phase 1 is getting the network running on cable locally in Utah, then expanding to satellite, etc. Spnish Fork Cable will add this, as will that cable network in St. George and others. Not sure about Comcast though. But this is a start for BYU.

It looks like BYU is paying to advertise a "BYU sports channel" which could be step 1 of a new media outlet (note that this could be the name of it or a name to be determined later). it could be just smoke in the midst of negotiations. That company doing the advertising is a penny stock trading at 5 cents and has a negative net worth. I am not buying any of the stock. Hard to tell what is going on but it is a move in a new direction.

We will have to wait and see what comes next, if anything.

Seems as if the announcement was either way premature, or is a fake. BACN is a no go at this point. Sounds like a scam.

Looks like rumor board is taking things to the next step, actually creating false news stories to back up their rumors.
