Wow, major love in the conference bow rankings. It sounded like he was getting ready for an all out assault on his putting the MWC at #2 but his (lengthy) justification was pretty good.

Seeing the Utah O slaughter their D in the first day of scrimmages really surprised me. I know they have speed and talent on O, but that is a D first team. I think Utah is in for some defensive struggles this year. They are replacing all LB, and 3 0f 4 secondary guys, and that is a huge transition I know I will not look forward to next year at all for BYU, even with our depth.

I see talent, not experience. Only 3 guys have any real PT in that 2-deep:Aguirre, Buckner and Eason, and it is limited playing time as well.. The rest, while talented, are unknowns still. And that is the issue. After 2010, the lack of experience will not be an issue. Let's hope that they perform. And let's hope we add Joe Sampson to that group, too.

They may not have that much experience, but how much D1 experience did Brian Logan have coming into the Oklahoma game? ZERO. Omarr Morgan before '96? ZERO. Ben Criddle before '06? ZERO. I see DeQuan in basically the same mold as those guys. If you've got the physical tools and the desire and ability to learn, Jaime Hill and Bronco will have you ready to start by week one, if you're ready.



Also, what about guys on missions? Don't we get the Bills kid back in the next year or two?

Thomas has more experience than all the guys you listed. But as others have mentioned, we've had success with guys who didn't have much prior experience. It's not ideal but it's also not out of the ordinary.



And I hope we get Sampson too.

This is for next year. That's a whole year's worth of experience between now and then.

Don't forget that we're going to have Rich anchoring the whole thing and basically QBing the defense. It really helps out your corners to have a solid safety playing behind them.
