Any Chance Bronco switches to a 3-3-5 this year?

Seeing how we have a lot of debth in the secondary and the LBs are green, any chance of a switch?

Nah, our strength is still in our LB corps.

Ask Bronco after his time at BYU if he believes that he can consistently field enough quality dbs for the 3-3-5; and then ask him what he'll do next year after he loses Rich, Bradley, and Logan.



BYU has always had a strong ability to recruit linebackers and that's where our strength needs to stay; in spite of the relative inexperience and youth in that position right now.

It's way too late into the camp for him to make a scheme change like that. The change would've been made at the beginning of Fall camp at the very latest.

I had the same thought about the talent in the secondary, but I agree that it is too late to make a change now. If we continue to get quality secondary players I am sure Bronco wouldn't mind switching back to the 3-3-5. But I think he would want the pipeline full before such a switch.



What about a 2-4-5? Again, too late to make a switch, but I am thinking the formation has a lot of possibilities in the future (including blitzing from multiple places simultaneously). We seemed to be stocked with LB and DBs. Doesn't TCU run something like that? Or maybe they run a 4-2-5. I don't know. Forget I said anything. I'm just ready for football to start.

No, but i wouldn't be surprised to see more nickel packages than we ever have before versus teams that like to pass like SDSU and in 3rd and long situations.

WAYYYY too much talent at LB. Green or not, just way too much talent.
