The details of where the 2011 game has not been decided. I just hope that it is not at RES. If it is, the only way I'd accept that as a fan is if there is then two back-to-back games at LES. Someone has said they had heard that Utah was able to put off Boise for a year on their game at Boise and possibly scheduled us in that slot.



I'm just not of the opinion that you play this game if we have to get the short end. If I did, I wouldn't really be into this rivalry would I?

BYU will not play Utah at RES in 2011. No way, will not happen. Only way this game happens is it Utah revises their schedule. Iowa State dropped off, which helps, and playing at Pitt, but playing them here this year, so that series will not be changed. BSU is the only chance.



I suspect it will be either game 2 or 3. I am betting on game 3. I know some people are pushing for game 1, but why play the rival first game of the year? Get a game under your belt or 2 then play them, then BYU can play a cupcake game 4 before MWC play starts.

It would be career suicide for holmoe if this deal lacks equality. . Can you imagine the outcry? Gotta believe this is a no brainer for admin. If no other reason, revenue. And if there was two in a row at utah, there would have to serious financial concessions. Even still, not enough $ generated at that one game to overcome all the negative fallout....na forget that thought. Not enough money in a years budget to justify two in a row without two at our place.

There was a period in the early 70s where they played a two for two but I don't know why but both coaches seem opposed to that today.

Wow, that's true. In 1972 & 1973 the games were at Utah and 1974 & 1975 they were both in Provo. I wonder what that was all about?



By the way, BYU won all four of those games.

It was probably to get the :utard: to keep playing us instead of calling it quits. You know, "we'll give you two in a row, but its gonna cost you."

I wouldn't care if it just went away. i highly doubt that byu agrees to play at res in 2011. no way. i'd be shocked. i really don't care anymore.

Agreed. I could care less if we play Utah anymore. As far as I'm concerned, they're not even in our conference anymore.

Agreed. Utah is dead to me.

They were talking about this on the radio yesterday and they said something I wasn't aware of, they mentioned the frutes tried to pull the "we are a better conference now and if you want to play us it will be a 2 for 1 situation." As expected BYU told them to stick it and told them they didn't need the game.



I don't know if this actually happened or if it was already mentioned here, but can anyone who is close to an insider either confirm or deny this?

I know there had been some talk of that but I don't know if Chris Hill actually said it to Holmoe.



I think it got more play in the media than in, dare I say, reality. I heard a media person ask Bronco and he said 'no way' and Kyle said 'I don't blame him. I wouldn't play two there'



I'm curious to see how they work it out because Utah needs to shuffle their 2011 schedule or get some help from the PAC-12 or they could be looking at 7 or 8 away games and there is no way they do that.

They did say in 2011 the pac whatever may let Utah play 8 conference games that season which would free up a date for BYU, but again I don't think Utah would give up a home date to play the game and I don't know if BYU would play 2 in a row up there.

Lawboy said earlier in this thread that BSU seems to be the wildcard and he's right.



Right now Utah's 2011 schedule is @PITT, @BSU, IOWA ST, ORE



Iowa State has dropped that game and obviously ORE becomes a conference game for Utah.



The PAC-12 is playing a 9 game schedule but if they will give Utah 5 home and 4 road and BSU will bump their game to 2012 going to Provo should be easy. Then Utah picks up one home game OOC and they have 6 home and 6 road games next year.



If BSU refuses I don't see Utah-BYU in 2011.

I just realized Utah has BSU at home in 2012 at in Boise in 2013.

Must have been a four game deal with the Broncos just like the Cougars did. So it should be relatively easy to drop two of those games (including the 2011 one) and just keep whichever other two would work for both programs.
