CougarCorner Logo Contest

As some of you may have noticed, the CougarCorner logo could use some work:

So, we are going to have a contest for the new CougarCorner logo. Here are the details:



- submissions should be posted in this thread in a PNG or SVG, or some kind of vector format.

- On the morning of August 26th, this thread will be locked, closing submissions. A new thread with a poll will be opened to allow the members to vote on their favorite logos until Friday morning, Sept. 3rd.

- The top three vote-getters will receive a to-be-determined prize (we are trying to come up with some decent prizes on the cheap since this is hobby money)

- From the top-three, we'll pick a winner that will become the new CougarCorner logo, and hopefully we can have it in place before the UW game.

- The winner will get a "grand prize" (also yet to be determined)

- If you submit an entry, you agree that, in the event you win, the design becomes CougarCorner's. All non-winners get to keep their designs.



What we're looking for--we would like to keep the Harline outline concept if possible. Those designs will be preferred, but we are open to new ideas also. Don't infringe or incorporate anything copyrighted or trademarked (including Oval Ys etc.)--anything we think comes close to infringing will be removed, and we will PM you to explain our reservations.



If you have questions or need more info, ask in this thread or PM Hawkwing or myself. I will answer questions in this post, and then delete the questions to try and keep this thread devoted to posting of submissions only with this one post giving all the details. Suggestions for prizes are appreciated as well.

Dimensions don't really matter, but it would be best if the image was somewhere around 300 - 600 (height or width) pixels preferably at 300dpi, no less than 160dpi. And remember it needs to be able to scale well, so that it can be used as a smaller icon.

I just took the original and touched it up a bit. And changed the font.

This entry brings up a good clarification, submissions may be altered, if they are chosen. For example, we have a logo with text in some instances and the text removed in some instances.



So if this one were chosen, the upper left logo would not include the text, nor would the t-shirts, but in some uses the text may be left there like when sharing on facebook.

I'm going to send a message to my cousin Cameron Oscarson. He's a huge BYU fan and related to Rhen and Terrence Brown on his mons side of the family. He's also an incredible artist.

I've been extremely busy and unable to do anything for this, however, I'll put in my vote for the original logo but with a different type treatment.



An alternative idea is to switch up the logo and subtitle to be things like a silhouette of George with his arms up as he runs into the endzone, with the subtitle "still running." You can rotate through a series of memorable events like that over time.
