TBS Membership - Worth it??

For those that have a TBS membership, is it worth it??

If you're really into recruiting, sure. My membership just expired. I got it for free a couple years ago for being in the NAVY. I thought it was ok, but I wouldn't spend my money on it.

Yeah, their recruiting coverage is tough to beat. Their in-season analysis/coverage is no better than any other free site.

Its okay. Don't get too much more out of it then on other websites. I think with the whole heaps recruiting story it was worth it. Heaps' mom is in chat a lot.

I think it is worth $10 a month. Especially during the season and high recruiting time. Where you really get the biggest benefit is in chat. The site has a deal with BYU that in order to keep their media credentials all posters on the message board have to post their full first and last name, no exceptions. This is great at helping to keep idiots and trolls under control but also makes it so people who do have inside info can't share it on the message boards. That is where chat comes in. The only problem is that you have to have your computer logged into chat in the evenings. You can't go back and read past chat.



I like it. There isn't a lot of **** measuring that goes on over there (for the most part). Everyone is pretty cool and welcoming to new people as long as you follow the rules and don't act like an idiot.

Totally worth it. As previously mentioned, a number of player parents are members and share a bunch of interesting insights into the program and their kids' lives. Chat is great and the recruiting can't be touched. Basically, every other media site gets their recruiting direct from TBS though they very rarely cite their sources. Plus, I think that Gurney and Steves give better analysis than any other media too because they jobs are more at stake while others just coast by on fluff because their job is safe.



TBS is my first source for all things BYU football. Their basketball coverage leaves something to be desired but the majority of subscribers spend all year talking football, even during basketball season and the NCAA tourney so you can see why they haven't focused more on basketball yet.

For me, it's easily worth 3 times the cost during fall camp and spring ball. During the season there is some value if you can spare the cash. Also very valuable during the last weeks of recruiting.



I re-upped on a month-by-month basis but will probably not renew after August cause money is tight.
