All-white road Uni's

Couples Clinic video shows a few funny moments, but Cosmo is wearing all-white. Possibly showing things to come?

I never did like the all white uniforms. I hope we stick with the blue pants with white shirts.

All white uniforms would blaspheme the fight song, which says, "wear the white and blue." Also, we did that once at Washington:

It was our only loss in 1996. It shall never happen again.

I like the all-white look, but I think BYU should reserve it for one occasion:



The home opener each year, which they designate as a "White Out for ___________ (insert favorite charity)." The sell commemorative white t-shirts at the game for $5, the sales proceeds of which go to the named charity. Early September in Provo usually features scorching sun, so both the fans and players would benefit from wearing white in one home game a year. I think it would be a good tradition to start in keeping with the service nature of BYU and the team.



I don't think they'd look bad with the current look:

Not a bad idea, but I think we wear white jerseys on the road and blue jersey's at home.

I think they look pretty sharp.

The all-white road unis are pretty cool. Getting Y fans to successfully conduct a white out is laughable. Getting BYU fans to even wear all blue almost as laughable and embarrassing.

I'm guessing most of you have attended a Big-12 or SEC home-game. Nebraska=almost totally red. Kansas State=totally purple. Oklahoma last year=totally red--or whatever that color is.

If there is one thing that Yewties do outshine our fans in is their red. Its everywhere. they even do their blackout far better than our white out. ugh :sick:

Under Armour funded the :utard: blackout in 2008 vs TCU. Ushers with boxes of black shirts were at every gate and gave every person that didn't wear black a black shirt. Free.



I agree with your premise, however. Plus red pops. It just does. Look at an arial shot of Utah or Nebraska and compare to Michigan or Navy. Dark colors kind of blend in with the shadows. Royal pops more than Navy. However, until there is a culture of wearing blue, you'll still see guys in their Hollister Ts and girls in pink, yellow and red. :sick:

Excuses. Excuses!! (not crackin on you Hoosier) Seems like BYU took a shot at this a few years ago and encouraged everyone to wear blue. THey gave up way too soon!!! Should have kept it up until people got the point. But no, we wouldn't want to persistently persuade people to heaven, that would look too coercive. Yes, its a big issue to me. A pet peeve!!

Credit to Dr Hill, who I like to debase regularly. If BYU admin was serious about wanting a successful white out or blue-out, they should learn from the folks on the hill.

Great point about royal vs navy blue, but the problem is much larger than that. Same problem in the West stands with 2nd geners sitting on their wrinkly hands, staring down others sitting nearby who would cheer for their team. :-(

You simply can't compare red (Utah/Nebraska), burnt orange (Texas), or bright purple (K-State) to navy blue. Even if 90% of the stadium were wearing navy blue it wouldn't be as brilliant as hotter (red, orange, etc) colors. White would have a greater effect, but nobody think about wearing white to a BYU game. For generations the color has been blue. Royal blue has a better chance against navy blue.

The only way to guarantee a blue-out is to hand out free BYU blue t-shirts at the door. It still surprised me the number of people that show up to a BYU game wearing neither BYU blue nor the opponent color. It's weird.

Definitely 4 or so years ago and maybe up to 2007 or so, but by last year most fans were in blue. Still not where it needs to be and on cold days most people don't have a blue coat, but definitely no longer laughable or embarrassing.

I have seen a definite improvement over the years, recently especially. It's gotten a lot blue-er! And BYU did do the white-out against Utah State a few years ago and it was pretty successful.

I kind of like the all-white. I also like the all-blue home uniforms they sported at least once in 95.

I agree handing out free shirts (white or blue) is necessary. I'm willing to help out in any endeavour of this magnitude as long as it is for a charitable cause. We could pick an early game in 2011, should be plenty of time to get something moving and off the ground...perhaps have a cougarcorner logo somehere on the tee?
