Bronco's ego hurt

I don't know what Bronco is trying to get at with these quotes in the deseret news.

Wow, first post. Troll much? Seriously, are you freaking kidding me with that post? What is your source? Oh wait, there is none, because you added BS info to a real quote Bronco did make. Why the sledgehammer and tractor tire garbage? Seriously. Typical :utard: Just butt hurt because Bronco has beat you 3 out of 4, and you see how it is trending. :sick:

Isn't it plausible that Bronco is a little smarter than you give credit? He does take something's personal and/or gets reactive, but its usually to fans that say stuff like this.

I mean, not to pick a fight but consider that he can't just let Jake waltz right in unchallenged. Consider that Bronco may already have a very good idea that Jake is likely to start. He will take crap for that by a lot of folks. Fans will claim Jake hasn't earned the starting job as a freshman. If Jake is to start he will have to pass all these tests; and, these conditioning drills, innane or not, will be a lot easier than FSU LB's cracking him on the head.

Easy does it brother.

I don't think this shows bitterness on Bronco's part. He is being upfront and honest about the situation like he always does. On Wrubells blog Doman is quoted as saying that Munns isn't "rarin' and ready to go physically right now"

Does that mean Doman is bitter about Munns for some reason? Not at all. Just because a coach criticizes a player doesn't mean he is bitter or has some hidden motive for saying it.



And you mentioned that Bronco has done this before, when? With who?

I have a buddy who is the strength coach over at AF high. He trains Ryker Mathews. And this is the exact type of training they are doing now. Builds natural upper body strength and helps with leverage a ton. I can see why O-line and D-line guys need this, but not a QB so much, unless it is to show his line that he will bust tail with them. And I think this is what Bronco is referring to. Heaps is by far the most talented guy, the most polished guy, but he just needs to put his time in with the guys in the trenches so they want to play for him. Band of Brothers and all that. CURRAHEE!!!

Bronco seems spot on to me, I don't see anything wrong with what he said, and this new guy is a troll to the nth degree.

FYI if anyone is confused. BYU31 edited his first post which was a lengthy paragraph rant about Bronco's reactivity and ego problems from past and as it relates to the quote about Jake. Looks like he wisely went in and deleted everything but the one sentence shown here.

I still don't see how Bronco's quote has anything to do with his ego being hurt. He was just making it clear to the media that Jake won't get any special treatment no matter how many stars scouts.com put next to his name

There are several statments made by Bronco that apply not just to Jake but to any highly recruited/3-5 star recruit. Bottom line - no special treatment, entitlement status, handling with kit gloves, etc. given to highly ranked recruits. All players will work to earn a starting position and do whatever type of training the other players are doing to improve physically and mentally. Bronco is straightforward with everyone (how refreshing), and lets preferred walk-ons know that they will be rewarded for their efforts if they put in total effort. That should be very good incentive for anyone on the team - positive results translate into playing time. The competition should be fierce and the cream will rise to the top under this scenario. Everyone wins - especially the product on the field.
