Suggested opponent for BYU in 2012 0r 2013

After reading that the LDS temple in Philadelphia has been approved, I've got an interesting idea for an away game in 2012 or 2013: Temple University in Philly.



It could replace the @BSU OOC game scheduled for 2012, but Temple looks full that year, so maybe 2013. Maybe try to have the game coincide with the temple dedication...

Sorry, but I can't get excited about a game against Temple, no matter what.

They have been a bad team and got kicked out of the Big East but they have a hot new coach and they got to a bowl game last year (UCLA came from behind to win it). They could be decent by then IF they keep their coach.

We could go see BYU destroy Temple and then go to the Temple? We could tail gate at the Temple!!! We could bring posters that say we Hate Temple but we love THE Temple! :)

I think the better idea would be to have BYU play a Big Ten team at a neutral site in Philadelphia; perhaps wherever the Eagles play. Penn State would be awesome, but that would definitely be a Penn State home game atmosphere. Rather, may be we could schedule a middle of the road Big Ten team, such as Purdue or Michigan State in Philadelphia.



The back-up plan would be to schedule a Big East team in Philadelphia. May be Rutgers or UConn?

Army or Navy in Philly would be a good game. Navy preferred. Sure they would be happy to play us there. A return visit to Provo would be cool too.

I'd like to see BYU play Miami again. I'll always remember BYU taking out scUM in 1990.
