With the addition of Boise, Dish network back in play?

Personally I dont see how the addition of BSU puts Dish back in play, I doubt Dish network is saying to themselves, well now that you've got Boise we have to get in on this. I imagine it's just two things that are independent of one another.

I like to think that it was the subtraction of Utah that put Dish Network back in play...

Thankfully, I don't think it is going to really matter, for BYU anyway. I hope for Dish Network's sake that they don't negotiate to get the MTN. I really think the flagship program has other plans.

I could care less of the Dish stuff. Just bothered that BSU will be our last game of the year. Sorry, but they are not our rival. And I'd rather make TCU play them last since they have more of a rivalry. I'd prefer to slot AFA as our last game. Then play BSU and TCU mid season--just not back to back. Anyone else want to play BSU last game?

I'd rather play air force last too, so we would have time to recover from those chop-blockin' Aay - holes before a bowl game.

By increasing the MWC's footprint and giving us a new solid #2 school in TV numbers, right behind BYU (and a new #1 in the MWC in national interest- which translates into money).

What? Huh? Boise State is not the #1 in national interest. No way, no how. BYU is still the clear leader nationally in terms of perception and name recognition and branding, and it is not even close. Boise State is not even taken seriously back east, but BYU is. But nice try with your Donkey love again.

I will agree with Mars on this one. Adding BSU does increase the MWC footprint and that alone helps out more than keeping the frutes in the conference. As far as national interest, BSU may not be taken seriously back east but BYU is much better back east either. Where I think BSU gets the national interest is the love fest the media still has for BSU ever since their bowl win over Oklahoma, because everybody roots for the underdog especially when going against the BCS Goliath so BSU has been the non BCS "little guy" poster child. With BSU joining the MWC they are still on the outside and will still be the David in the national football picture. That doesn't mean BSU has more fans than BYU, which we all know isn't true, but the attention they are generating in the media is what is extremely important.

correct me if iam wrong, but the two bcs games BSU played where the lowest rated of the BCS both times.

So let me get this straight.



I've read a few times that the Pac-10 adding Utah and Colorado will "not move the needle that much" for them to get a better TV deal. Despite the fact that the new deal will need to cover SLC and Denver.



and our adding Boise is going to move ours with Boise??



Either something is wrong with that picture, or our TV deal is worse than Ithought.

The pac 12 needle will not move that much adding Utah because the pac 12 already has a bigger audience to begin with and the MWC audience is a lot smaller so adding BSU to the MWC has a bigger impact on number of viewers than adding Utah to the pac 12.



Let me explain.... no that takes too long, let me sum up. Humperdink is gonna marry... sorry got carried away. Let's say you have 100 marbles (pac 12) and you add 10 marbles (utah) it has a very small impact, but if you have 50 marbles (MWC) and add 10 marbles (BSU) that has a bigger impact to that group. In addition when those 10 marbles (BSU) come from a completely different bag it adds more than the marbles you are losing (utah).



BTW ballin, nothing was said about the ratings for BSU two games, I was referring to the love the media is showing Boise not if they were pulling in big viewer numbers. I will agree with you viewer numbers are what it all boils down to but you can't put a price on the media having a big man crush over a member of your conference.

Boise State's BCS games were not the lowest rated games of their respective year. At least BSU drew more than an 8 each time. Utah's two trips to the BCS resulted in ratings of 7.4 and 7.8.
