I was sporting some BYU gear (as always) and when my Uncle and I walk up, one of the Varsity coaches comes up and starts talking to us. He had been my cousins coach in junior high, and was now coaching at the HS, really nice Poly guy, he played at Fresno State (I'm not sure if he was a member or not, he did say his dad went to BYU-H though).
Our conversation went like this:
Coach: So you're getting ready to leave on your mission huh? At least you got to see a great game last November! (point to my shirt)
Patches: Yeah, it was a good one to go out on, especially Jordan Wynn getting absolutely destroyed by Pendleton.
Coach: That was my favorite part of the game! I freaking hate that kid, he is the whiniest, most obnoxious kid. I was cheering so loud when he was laying on the ground.
Patches: You sound like you've had a run in or two, was that just from him playing down here at Oceanside?
Coach: No, I just got married to his mom, I can't freaking stand the kid. He drives me nuts.
I remember seeing an interview on the news before he became the starter, it was during the time they were missing field goals and almost losing to nobody's...or barely beating has beens. And a reporter asked him about the game and how he's performing and he was complaining even though he was trying to hide it I thought he was going to cry...I guess it's because he knows he's better than Cain. It's just funny because it's true.
