11 Notre Dame athletes arrested on drinking charges

Didn't see this anywhere thought I would just point it out. Although I'm not looking for it to turn into a "was Manti there?" sort of thing. Just thought it was interesting because Joe Montana's son was involved.

There might not be a Teo arrested (this time) but apparently Punahou couldn't avoid the spotlight.



Notre Dame is a mess; their football tradition is a distant memory. This is what happens in a small town with nothing to do. South Bend makes Logan look like Paris.

This is ND tradition, just tack on paying and cheating and they can reach USC status.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. I really wouldn't be surprised that after everything is said and done, that all 11 of them won't get anymore then a slap on the wrist, something along the lines of a small fine, and the people at Notre Dame will say that they've already been punished by the law and no further action is required, and we'll see them all playing again. Although I really hope this isn't the case.

This is sensationalized a bit. No one is going to prison and no one will likely miss any playing time for this incident. (except for those older few who provided the alcohol...they could be hit a little harder). These arrests were all misdemeanors and outside of BYU common occurrences on college campi (rushism) around the country. I doubt the coaches think this is really that big a deal.

Exactly what makes this whole thing so tragic, and the reason why any LDS parent who doesn't want their children to attend BYU such a mistake.

Dude they are the Fighting Irish. As in, let's pound some suds, then get it on. Notre Dame has no alcohol prohibition, just one that requires students to follow the law. But if you are 21, feel free to imbibe.

what struck me was reading that the Montana kid was a backup at Pasadena City College last year! Talk about getting special treatment because of your name...he couldn't even win the starting job at some community college and now he's at Notre Dame. What a joke

Let's be realistic here. Notre Dame can't win on the road, even at PasadenaCC.



note: yes Notre Dame has an honor code... but football > their honor there... pretty sad considering the state of their football.
