Who Will Win a World Cup First?

I vote the US.



England sold their soul for 1966, and so they're not due for another win until 2066. Mexico has enough quality to do well at World Cups, but their lack of team size will hurt them when going against teams possessing skill and size, like Germany or Holland.



I'm hoping that this is the year of the Oranje. The Dutch haven't been impressive so far, but that may be a good sign, because the Dutch historically come out like gangbusters in group play and fizzle out in the knockout stages.



The real question is which confederation will have a team win first:



CONCACAF (North & Central America and Caribbean)

CAF (Africa)

AFC (Asia)

Interesting question. I'd vote for CONCACAF simply because I think we'll see the USA win the WC within the next 20 years. If I could get decent odds, I would put some money down now on the US in 2022 - especially if the US gets the bid.

I'd think CONCACAF too, but I've been very impressed with the South Koreans the past 3 World Cups. If they continue on their trend, they should be able to make at least another semi finals in the next 20 years.

My heart wants to say USA but methinks England before USA or Mexico...as far as CONCACAF, CAF,

and AFC: everyone know the AFC is better than the NFC... ok really probably CONCACAF but as Mingjai said, I have been impressed with S. Korea the last few WC's.
