The article said he still has a redshirt available--does that mean he has 3 to play two?

Props to the kid for buckling down in the classroom.

Last reports were that he was staying in JC for another year, then coming to BYU for 2011. Glad he is coming for Fall camp this year. I suspect that he redshirts, gets a year in the classroom, plays some spring ball, then we roll him out at safety for 2011 and he will be ready to rock and roll. His size and speed screams great safety for BYU. Just in time too.

He said that he is getting his 2 year degree. He either played 2 years or 1 and redshirt.

I was thinking of Joe Sampson, who will be a JC transfer that comes in for next year. Glad to see Bronco finally going after JC guys in the secondary, like LaVell did. The improvements made the last 2 years with those guys has been huge. And it looks to continue.

This is why Everett will be on scholarship in the fall and Sampson won't be on scholarship until January. Both will be there for the next spring camp.



throw in Eason, Buckner, Nicholson (he's coming back), Travis Uale, Steven Thomas, Jray Galei, the 2010 kids (Jordan Johnson, Kori Gaines) and the current missionaries (Trevor Bateman, Daniel Sorenson, Craig Bills, and...Comers/Hanneman) and our secondary should be solid even after our senior studs graduate in 2010-11.

I hope your right about Nicholson Craig. I always thought he'd eventually be a great player for us. He was on the verge of breaking the two deep as a redshirt freshman too if it weren't for his academic difficulties.

Nicholson reportedly transferred to SLCC to get things straightened out and planned to be back at the Y for the fall. I haven' heard anything contraindicating this, however we all know how touch and go it can be for the academically challenged to make it work.

Hey - "Mars" - I've read this kids profile about 4x over several months. I like everything about him! Look @ his picture - he looks like he wants to take someone's head off!! Do you think he could "shut down" receivers w/ his speed, height & aggressive attitude!! Yeah - I'm excited!! Bam!!!
