Worst College BB Coach

John Calipari...I was reading the local paper and its first round NBA draft projections and get this: it has FIVE different KY players being picked in the first round FIVE! And they did not win it all??? This is TIC, but still!

How many draft picks the Utes have in football? And they finished in third.

Amazingly he even had a freshman bench player "Orton" go in the first round. He had 2 freshman point guards go in the first round. How that impacts his program...he has the number one recruiting class coming in and I read an article that the next two years there was a quote from the number one player who said everyone wants to go to Kentucky right now. The college experience isn't as important as getting into the NBA in the first round and if you can do that on Calipari's bench who wouldn't want to go to UK.

I don't know a coach who could have done better playing what was essentially a High School All-Star team. He may not be the best coach in the country but face it, Freshman make Freshman mistakes and it's tough enough when you've got one or two on the floor not to mention the ego's of all those teenagers who came in looking for opportunities to get on ESPN highlights every time they played. UK played 4 freshman and their lone upper class-man Peterson had a real knack for disappearing in critical times. You may not like his style of play or his in your face attitude but you won't find too many here in KY who feel short changed on the millions it took to get him here. He already has the top HS talent lined up for the next 3 years so he has no problem with one and done's, and when you can put 5 in the first round of the NBA draft in a year all Coach Cal has to do is get them within a sniff of the NC and folks here will be happy.

He also talks the best trash to players than any other coach too.



Such fine qualities any AD should look for. :lol:
