"School home to 13-year-old USC recruit comes under fire"

David Sills, the 13-year old punk kid QB who committed to USC just a few months ago. His current high school is under fire for a few things.



Keep in mind... This is a high school. Not a college.


Kevin Charles, executive director of the DIAA for five years, says the allegations are among the most serious he has ever encountered. Charges include: recruiting students for athletic purposes; providing scholarship money and housing for incoming players; practicing out of season; playing too many middle school football games in a season and in a week; and using ineligible players.


Frickin' high schools does this shiz now?!?! I don't know what they do in Deleware, but here in Utah... I've never heard of such things.

Looks like this school is preparing David well for U$C. By the time this punk makes it to U$C(if he does), he'll be use to it.

I heard of a couple such things here in Utah about ten years ago when Skyline was the dominant powerhouse in the state...

At American Fork they would seem to "bend" the rules a bit with the coach being there when summer drills were taking place. At least I think he was... I don't know the rules specifically but I'm pretty sure he's not even aloud to be around when those drills are taking place, but as I said I could be wrong. He would basically have some volunteer parents, that almost acted like coaches running it with him kind of supervising. Also I'm pretty sure their are some rules about practicing with pads too early, that if in fact there are then he surely broke those too, but this is just minor stuff compared to what's going on at this kid's school.

You are a little off here, because if this kid really is 13 years old then it isn't high school, this is jr high or middle school, before high school.

The boy, Elijah Ralph, entered Red Lion Christian late last summer as a seventh-grader. Red Lion coaches had seen him play in the New Castle County Football League, a local youth program not affiliated with a school, his mother said. Elijah, already nearly six feet tall and 300 pounds at 13, was easy to spot, and a coveted offensive line prospect for the middle school team and its prized quarterback, the younger David Sills, she said.



But she thought moving from Gunning-Bedford Middle School in the Colonial district to Red Lion was wise."



I did read the article and the team the 13 year old Sills is playing for is the middle school team. With this school being a private school, they probably have all grades attending there, but at least from middle school on up, so with the kid only being 13 he is at best in 8th grade which would still make it a middle school team, and make this whole situation even worse.

Of course not. The rest of us expect things to get very boring right before the Second Coming.
