BoiseBYUAll this debate about Hill and Holmoe has led me to think how they match up. So here's my thoughts. I thought I'd use Blahmeier (my choice of spelling) as a control.
I think the most important act is picking a FB coach. On that front I'd have to give all three ADs equal good marks.
Next is complying with NCAA rules and all. Again a pretty much even wash. I'd give Holmoe bonus points for dealing with BYU's honor code, something no one else has to deal with.
For me the next item is the men's BB coach. Here Holmoe beats Hill and Blahmeier.
Next is the state of the rest of the athletic program. Here BYU wins big time. Utah has women's gymnastics and BSU has tennis and wrestling, but overall neither comes close to the breadth and excellence BYU's progam are bringing.
Next are facilities. BSU has seriously upgraded. UT has the Olympics to thanks for its improvements. In the end, would anyone pick those school's facilities over BYU's? Not I.
Finally, handling conference matters, UT is in the PAC and BSU got in the MWC. BYU presently in the MWC is not a total negative though. This is a to be continued matter.
So in the end I trhink. Holmoe wins. Npt that the others have sdone bad--thank goodness we don't have a Mike Garrett or Belottii! Thoughts?
