Rise and Shout the Cougars are OUT!!!!

Yeah it stinks that utah got an invite to the PAC 10, here are three ideas that helped me get over the cougars being left out in the cold:



1-utah was the afterthought invitation, similar to the fat kid who gets picked last on the kickball field. Then again what does that make BYU?



2-utah will not even sniff a BCS Bowl Games jockstrap as they will finish each year in the middle of the PAC.



3-Even if BYU were in the WAC, I'd still rather be a Y fan than a Band Wagon Jumping Ute. :P

Exactly, which is why I'm calling for a BOYCOTT on all Utah sporting events. BYU fans, DON'T WATCH :utard: GAMES! That's what the Pac-less cronies are counting on - BYU fans (who they already know owns the market) tuning in to watch the Turds play.

The Yewts are riding an emotional wave. Equivalent to the euphoria a child feels when the tooth fairy comes in the night & leaves some $$$ under their pillow. Right now - it feels really good. But, 2 to 3 years will go by & them Yewts, after a so-so season that fell short - again. They'll be just like the Az. schools, good, but middle of the pack conference teams. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride. I predict the childish Yewt will wake up 3 years down the road and realize; "Yes we're in the PAC, but, we're just another team, lost in the herd."

The PAC really isn't that good. I don't think the yewts will have a harder time entering that conference than TCU did when they joined the MWC.



Lots of fans on this board are caught up in the BCS fallacy that all BCS conferences are automatically better than the MWC because they have better bowl contracts and more money. That's simply not the case, especially with the PAC, big 10 and big east.

It will all depend on the division struture that the Pac 12 chooses. If it is Utah, Colorado, Arizona, Arizona State, USC, and UCLA then Utah will probably compete immediately. The only formidable foe is USC, and with the sanctions that is now a question mark.



Utah will probably benefit the first 2 years or so from the rest of the conference overlooking them, with their "we are superior" attitude and "Utah is just from the MWC."

Well, the fact that Utah is now instantly millions of dollars richer immediately makes me think that they are the winners here.



If there is a bright side it is that BYU will probably have an easier time qualifying for an at-large berth in the MWC than Utah will have qualifying for an AQ berth in the Pac-10.

Utah is going to struggle in the PAC10 to excel. They will be competitive, though. They are 5-1 at home v. PAC10 teams since 2000, 2-0 neutral field. But their downfall is that they are 1-6 at PAC10 venues since the 2000 season. They do not win on the road, and if you want to be great, you have to do that. The one win was the 2004 season when Utah ran it, and Arizona went 3-8.
