What The Pac-0 Is Counting On...(and how we can deny it)

It must be obvious to Mr. Scott (aka "The Devil") that BYU in fact controls most of the TV sets in Utah/SLC. And I do believe that the Pac-0, by inviting Utah, realized that they were getting the LESSER of the two Utah teams. So, what are the religious bigots desperately hoping for?

That us BYU fans will tune in to watch :utard: play. That's what they need. That's what they are counting on. In order for :utard: to deliver the SLC market...we as BYU fans must actually WATCH their games.

So...what are we to do? What is the very best way to stick it to the Pac-negative-infinity? Simple. When the Yewts are playing...watch something else. Or don't watch anything at all. And ESPECIALLY if you're one of those lucky ones with the "ratings power" (you know if I'm talking to you)

Starting now...boycott watching ALL Utah games. Period.

Will it make a difference? Not really...but it will make us all feel better that the Pac-of-Crap, and their T.V. "partners" (I hear they really like that term in Pac-0 land) aren't getting what they bargained for.

They got the 2nd best team in UT for their conference...lets make sure they don't get the tv viewership they were hoping for.

p.s. Larry scott really is the devil. Don't believe me? Well...have you ever seen the two of them together? Me either...so do you need anymore proof than that?

Exactly. Glad you see it my way. I wonder where he hides those horns...

Hmmm...he doesn't hide them in the same fashion that I hide MY Mormon Horns...

Geez, bitter much? LOL. Despite what you believe about "religious bigots", that is nothing compared to the issue of your school not being a research university and not playing on Sundays. Both of which are actual real reasons Utah got the nod over BYU.

And by the way, over the last six years or so, Utah has been the best team in Utah, as far as record and bowl games go (and I do NOT mean that as a slam, just a fact).

The problem with statistics is that you can always isolate the aberation and put it forward as fact. There is not a BYU fan alive who will not acknowledge that the Crowton years were bad. However, the 6 year time frame is kind of puzzling. Generally, when comparing the state of a football program you would use decades (10 years) and half decades (5 years). Its kind of like me saying that over the last year BYU has been the best team in Utah or over the last 4 years BYU has been the best team in Utah. If you look at head to head records over the last 5 years, BYU is 3-2. Head to Head over the last 4 years BYU is 3-1. Over the last 5 years BYU has lost 2 fewer games than Utah. Remember, the Crowton years are an aberation. BYUs current head coach has a better record (both head to head and overall) than Utah's current coach. Over the last 10 years, BYU is even with Utah in head to head games. BYU is building a program and Utah having some impressive flashes coupled with mediocrity. And that is my opinion.

Same statistics, different facts. Bottom line, it is not a fact that Utah (or BYU) is the better team recently. It is an opinion. You might be able to use statistics to back it up, however, the statistics can be interpreted both ways.

Oh, that's right. I forgot about the academic prowess of Oklahoma St and Texas Tech. My bad.

Not to mention Oregon St and Wazzu.

You're right. It was all about the academics. And had nothing to do with religious bigotry. Uh huh.

Anyone with half a brain knows that BYU owns the Utah market, as well as huge chunks of Idaho, Nevada, Colorado, and has a huge fan base in Pac-0 country (we fill up your stadiums for you), has a 30-year tradition of outstanding athletics (as opposed to 5 for the :utard: ), and carried the conference for the :utard: slackers for 25 years before they decided to do anything.

FACT: BYU's been selling out our 65,000 seat stadium for 30+ years.

FACT: Just 6 years ago, Urban Meyer was GIVING AWAY THOUSANDS of tickets to :utard: "fans", hoping to fill up their 40,000 stadium because a pac-0 opponent was coming to town, and he wanted it to look like his "fans" gave a sh!t on national TV.

Do you realize what you just confessed? BYU doesn't play on Sundays for religious reasons. Barring them for such is discrimination.

Oops.

WAZZU is known as a research university in what manner? And what, resaerch-wise, does Ok State bring to the table? remember they were a school the PAC 10 was falling all over to join. Have you actually compared the scholastic accomplishments of, for example, BYU and Utah? if you did you would see that BYU students, collectively, are more the scholars than their Ute counterparts. This is NOT to badmouth Utah. They have a fine school, better in my estimation than several Pac 10 members, but I can't let you excuse the Pac 10's invite to the U on "research" grounds. It is so transparently facile as to undermine your credibility.

The last time I checked... A couple weeks ago. BYU had better academics than 5 of the current PAC members. We would improve those standards and not hurt them.

Larry Scott has shown religious bigotry and the PAC backs him up on it.

I'm going to go out on a limb here - as much as I think Larry Scott is the devil (see previous posts), I don't think that he is the one showing religious bigotry. I think its the conference.

I think that Larry Scott, who does understand business and television, would have much rather invited BYU, who is obviously a better draw (ratings don't lie), has a huge fan base that dwarfs :utard: 's, fills up pac-0 stadiums, and is better known nationally.

But he was told by Stanford, Cal, et al that they would NEVER vote to include BYU in "the club", and so he had no one else to fall back on when it came time to expand so that the Pac-minus-infinit could host their Holy Conference Championship Game (which will be attended by all of 30,000 people), and the Texas and Friends group told him to eff off.

I don't know. He's the leader of the PAC. If he was truly a great leader... He could make others understand and follow.

Larry Scott hired many different companies to see which way the PAC should go. I think some schools do hate BYU, but Scott could have persuaded them if he thought differently.

Its religious bigotry at its fullest with the PAC. Even PurpleReign said it without realizing it.

No matter how good of a leader you are, you'll never get the KKK to accept a member of a different race. The Pac10 is the equivalent of the KKK in terms of their bias against religion.

Having done considerable research recently on Utah universities, as well as some others, here's some things to chew on:

1. The only thing a "research" university means is the school has a bunch of high paid faculty who don't teach, get a big office and a research lab--and higher tuition. Utah has the highest tuition of all the Utah schools, the only reason is they are a "research" university. Big whup.

2. Every school is noted for something. Schools choose their poison, and live by it. Utah's college of education is a joke, no one wants to hire their grads, but they have a good medical school. BYU is nationally renowned for its business school, law school, and education school.

3. I have children, their spouses, and friends who attended BYU, and Utah. The BYU grads love BYU and everything about it. The Utah grads felt they got a good education, but have no emotional attachment to the school. The BYU grads return to BYU frequently, the Utah grads have never been back to the school. I just find this very interesting.

Let Utah go, nobody cares. In three or four years BYU people will be glad we're right where we are. Status is way over rated.

Dude... That's a weird analogy. :skeptic: The KKK? :gross: No KKK leader would allow a different race in the first place... Need to pick a better example to use.

Secondly, the KKK would only allow someone who would represent their ugly teachings, just like what the PAC did.

Larry Scott is a bigot when it comes to BYU. Did you guys hear his interview on 1280 just after Utah gave their "acceptance" speech? He avoided the BYU subject and his reasoning for Utah was assanine. But whatever...

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make bigoted Cal and Stanford vote to add a religion-sponsored university to their conference.

I don't question other schools in the PAC are against BYU. I know it. I also think Larry Scott is just like them.

Yes, and then I take it AGAIN on Sunday - which means I'm TWICE as Spiritual (that, or it means I practice false doctrine - one or the other).
