BYU voted to add the Boise State Broncos to the MWC on Friday, expanding the Mountain West conference to 10 schools. Was that the right move?

Sorry MARS - We are going to have to agree to agree on this one! In other words - Heck Yes it was a good idea now that Colorado is not available. In fact, it would have been a good idea even if Colorado was still available. I really believe in REGIONAL Conferences Vs SNOBBISHNESS and GREED. When u can get a great football program in your region - u should just do it. The PAC 10 is going a bit nuts here from a football perspective - although from a money, power, and greed perspective they re right on target. In a sane world, we would also grab Nevada, USU, NM State, UTEP, and Fresno State, crap kick them most of the time, and keep the MWC in the annual BCS picture - 2 divisons - with 2 of the Big 4 in each one. But, this is not a sane world, so let's hope we can grab some Big 12 Leftovers, keep Utah, and become BCS AQ conference. It seems that the BIg 10 is ready to slow down - if so, MWC should striked now, assuming the Big 12 implodes, and grab the leftovers - keeping in mind - the Big 10 may raid us later if we take teams in proximity to their perimiter. BUt ti would be nice to crap kick MIssouri regularly given the history of the Rivalry going back to Liberty Jail timeframe.

CAN'T WAIT to see our teams start beating their brains in!!

I voted yes. I believe that college football is valuable because of it's regional rivalries. If you take that away and try to force something new (a'la PAC-16) you water down what makes college football better than the NFL.

But Boise is 11-1 against the MWC!!! Including 2-0 against BYU!!! Doesn't that show their dominance of us?!

Wait, what's that you say? Those were BYU's two worst teams since the Kennedy administration? And didn't it take a "missed FG" because the goal posts weren't high enough for the official to see which way it went? And if Boise fans think they can just waltz into the MWC and dominate the MWC like they dominated the competition-less WAC, I can't wait until they lose 3 conference games in their first year.

You might have to wait for their 2nd year....BSU's current roster will be peaking in 2011. Should make for an interesting match-up with the Cougs who will be fielding a much more mature team led by either senior Riley Nelson in his second year at the helm, or Jake Heaps as either a RS Freshman or true sophomore.

I hope they go to divisions and play an unbalanced schedule. I like the idea of not having to play BSU, TCU, and Utah in the same season while matching up with teams from the formally pac-0 but soon to be pac-2. It will be funny to see all the former big-12 teams at the top of the standings (except CO).

As for BSU, I think they will be able to kiss their home field streak gone within two seasons of joining.

Isn't Kellen Moore a SR this year?

Jr. He was a sophomore last year. He will be a Sr. their first year in the MWC, unless he's holding an NFL clipboard after an early entry.

I had to choke down my bile and vote yes. Of course, with the shifting landscape of college football, the MWC had to move forward someway and not stand pat. BSU currently is the best nonAQ football team not already in the MWC.
