Perhaps, but we'll have to see what Art Briles and Robert Griffen III can do the next couple of seasons. If they can string some good seasons together, Briles has the personality and resume to continue to get recruits into Waco and keep some forward momentum like he did at Houston.

It doesn't matter if they stay with Texas or not, in football they are already comparable to Rice/SMU.

Don't look now, but SMU is improving and will be a borderline top 25 team this year. And Baylor is actually showing a pulse in football for the first time since the early 80's. I'd love to add Baylor to the MWC and pair them up with TCU for travel in hoops, etc. Then need a school to pair with Boise, and can hopefully get both Kansas schools. 14 sounds about right.

What is their football recruiting strategy going to be now? Up to this point it has been "Think of all the awesome teams you will lose to!!"

Baylor will go bowling the next two years, three if Griffin stays his senior season. This kid is everything Terrell Pryor was supposed to be, and Briles has the talent surrounding him to win.
