Take for what it's worth...it's TMZ. However, it would make sense if the PAC 10 is trying to block the Texas legislature from eliminating it's original choices.

Again, going behind Texas' back doesn't get you the crown jewel but instead gets you a bunch of team you never should have wanted anyway. OSU does not have a bad athletics program but they certainly don't bring anything to the table like a significant market, etc. And without Texas to play against, they just kill their own recruiting as half their roster is from Texas every year.

This is all orchestrated. Totally smart on the part of the PAC10. This way, they get who they want, and are not be told that they have to take Baylor. The writing is now on the wall. Baylor, Kansas, K-State and Iowa state are so screwed. I still think Missouri gets in the Big 10, when they go to 16 with Notre Dame, Rutgers and 1 other.



The 4 16 team conferences is so gonna happen now. The Big 12 is dead, and the Big East is about to die as a football conference. What remains will be the PAC16, Big 16, SEC16 and ACC 16, along with the MWC, which hopefully stops at 14. The rest are totally screwed for all revenue sports. And the Bowl system is hte next tradition to go down. 16 team playoff is so gonna happen, with the outsiders getting a bowl invite. wait and see.

True, but I see why they're doing it. If Texas, A&M and Tech "want" to go to the Pac 10, w/o Baylor, and the Texas lawmakers block them from doing so because of Baylor, then that would be a very unpopular move, politically speaking. Especially since Baylor doesn't have near the alumni base in Texas as do the other three. They're putting the Texas lawmakers in a very precarious position, if all this is true.



There may also be stipulations to an invite to OSU, such as "if the remaining 4 come along", otherwise it's voidable. Even if the Pac 10 doesn't get the Texas schools, they can still get OU, OSU, CU and someone else, and probably still be happy. It appears there's a lot of political posturing going on. Fact is, the Pac 10 can probably act much faster than the Texas legislature can.

I think Texas has already greenlighted those moves, and is in on what is going down. The PAC10 would not be acting otherwise. They want Texas most, and these moves are to free them up from Baylor, plain and simple. This is so going down without Baylor.

I think the Pac 10 is playing with fire. Wouldn't it be funny if Texas and A&M decided to go to the SEC instead? It appears to be a possibility for A&M at least, but for Texas it would be more out of the blue.

I agree. Texas is definately the big prize, and likely "greenlighted" the moves. In otherwords, the Pac 10 is likely pretty confident that Texas is going west. However, even if they don't, OU and OSU are not bad consolation prizes either, since it's possible they're a package deal. Maybe even more so than the Texas schools. Again, if the OSU move is legit.

OSU AD now reporting the report is false. Exactly why I was hesitant to say it was a done deal.

That is ridiculous. Texas one way, Oklahoma the other? And with OU looking for a team to partner up with to join the SEC? I so do not buy that at all. Ain't gonna go down that way.

Agreed. This is just getting silly. I could prank call some of these news outlets saying that Texas is going somewhere, and I think they would report it. These reporters need to get a grip.

If you've watched Chip Brown on ESPN lately, you've noticed he's almost high from all the attention. You know it's going to his head. He single-handedly has been the center of just about every report out there. At some point, you have to wonder if he is just making stuff up to keep the "dream alive". One thing is for sure, he didn't see the UT/A&M rumors to the Big Ten coming. Just goes to show, you let the fame go to your head, you start to slip up, Chip.

I just really, really don't want Texas to go to the PAC 0.1. I want to PAC to suffer humiliation to the extreme and find themselves at the bottom of the heap for many, many years to come.

I totally agree. I can't stand the PAC-10. For that reason alone it would be a perfect fit for Utah :D
