Can we make attach to BSU's MWC invitation a stipulation that says they must change their "turf" to something non-smurf colored? Green perhaps might be nice.

How nice would it be if we were able to add Ok. State over Baylor due to all the crap going on? I still expect Missouri to get a Big 10 invite, once Notre Dame sees they have little choice. I like the improvements the MWC can make here in perception alone. WE will be an awesome hoops conference, that is certain.

Houston just announced $160M to build new football and basketball stadiums. They might be too late on that in trying to get into the expansion picture.

Yeah, it might be a little too late. Plus, if they were going to build a new stadium, why not make it at least 50,000 instead of 40,000? I know they are like the last draw in all of professional and collegiate sports in Houston but you're never going to get a BCS invite with a stadium that only seats 40K max. If you don't have the money, work out a contract to play at the Astrodome or Reliant Stadium or even Rice or something. Geez, way to dream big... 40K is only 8K more than your current stadium seats. Go for the gold Cougars.

The trend is to have the stadium on campus, so the alumni will get back on campus often, feel nostalgic, and donate more. Minnesota did it recently, as well. Reliant would be a place to play, but an on campus stadium can offer much, much more, including upgraded workouts facilities on campus, better football offices on campus, which improves recruiting etc. 40K is the same size as RES, basically. I think that helps Houston a great deal. But I still don't want them in the MWC.

Understood, but it's not going to be that much more money to increase to 50K seating or take up any more real estate (just build a little higher). As long as you are making the investment now, why not give yourself as much room for growth as possible and cause for inclusion into a BCS (or at least higher profile) league?



And RES is closer to 50K than 40K. Plus there are quite a few BCS stadiums that seat around 50K but I can't think of any that seat less than that.
