BSU invite to MWC by Monday?

"There is speculation Utah, BYU, and TCU could be leaving the conference".



How credible was it for BYU to head for the Big XII? I didn't think it was anything serious. Same with TCU.

Looks like the countdown has started. Question with BSU joining (just assuming at this point). Would you be more excited about the season in the MWC? I would like to see the Sagrain conference rankings with BSU added. I think we would be around 5th place instead of 7th.

What the ACC and Big East fans dont' get, is that if the MWC were considered a BCS conference, the bottom half of the MWC woudl see dramatic improvement in recruiting and faciiities too.

Already our top half > those conferences (if you add BSU to the mix) but if you elevate the CSUs and the SDSUs, you have an incredible conf.



What the current BCS is counting on, though is that they can't do it prior to entry into the BCS (and right now they're right)



If Boise State and TCU had undefeated seasons next year (which is quite possible)... then I think we get the exception.



One thing to consider though, is that MWC refs could help TCU go undefeated while the WAC refs have no reason at all to help Boise if they knew they were on the way out....



I'm excited and hope that the conference presidents pull the trigger. In this case it's wise to be proactive and it would happen in a time where it'd be newsworthy for some time.



The MWC could be the 1st domino for a major reconstruction of the college landscape.

What I would like to see is the invitation to and acceptance by BSU into the MWC and then have every MWC team sign something binding that says they can't leave the conference so when the other conferences come calling the MWC can snub their noses at them and leave them adding the houstons, tulanes and fresno states of the world. Then let's see how the MWC numbers stack up with the 'big boys!'

just a little insight here, i have a friend that works for bsu football and he said the coaches dont wanna go to the MWC.

Can't say that I blame them, why play a real conference schedule?

The coaches aren't the ones worried about the $$ or 10 years down the road. BSU has been trying to get into the MWC for over 6 years now; there's no chance they'll turn down an invite.

If they offer, BSU has to publicly respond by July 1, pretty short time frame to weigh the consequences. If all the other ruomored dominoes fall and BYU, TCU, and Utah go to BCS conferences, the Broncos might be like USU and the WAC: "Yay, we got in finally! Wait, where is everyone?"
