Whittingham shows his "courage"

So, they have a golf tournament every year and the BYU and Utah coaches always are there. Bronco Mendenhall brings three football players to round out his foursome. Whittingham of course brought 3 ringers.

Just another example of the difference between the two coaches. Bronco is very competitive when it matters. When it doesn't matter (ie. charity golf tournament), he goes and has fun. Whittingham is so desperate to appear better than Bronco, that he brings ringers to a charity golf tournament. It is really sad when the event organizers have to go to one of the coaches and request that he bring football players next time.

I am in no way defending kwhit since I think he is a classless ute but Lavelle used to do something similar when he participated in this tourney. If I remember right, he would usually bring at least one golf "pro" for his team which prompted McBride to one up him and bring a couple for his team the next year.

Be competitive and beat Utah every time, in every way, no matter what. that's what I think.

Only recently (since last year I believe) has Bronco changed things around by bringing players (who play in their own tournament to determine who gets to go). This has the combined effect of being a great bonding experience for the team and making Kwhitt look like a win-at-all-costs douche. Kwhitt had claimed he'd bring players this year (so as to not appear as a douche like he did last year) but opted instead for the ringers (again). Now apparently he is being "asked" to bring players next year. Sometimes the classiness must be forced upon one.

Per this article, the tournament began as 3 players and 1 coach from each school. Whittingham has been resistant to include his players. Apparently, he is too good to play golf with the type of people that Utah recruits. Which if you think about it is understandable. Bronco probably wouldn't bring players either if that's all he had to choose from. However, at least Bronco understands that no one cares about a charity golf tournament. He is focused on the big prize of creating a football team.

Whittlessham need do nothing more to further doucheness status. In fact, his douchiness couldn't possibly get any higher. After all, his middle name IS "Summer's Eve". While his latest actions have in fact further supported his current level of doucheness, when you are already King of the Douche Bags...there's nothing you can do to become MORE of the king of Douchebags.

In my opinion based off of conversations I have had with people who know him, Coach Whit is obsessed with BYU. He HAS to beat BYU. It's what drives him and, in part, keeps him at Utah so it is no surprise to me that he would bring ringers to a charity golf tournament against BYU.

The fact that it is a charity golf tournament that means absolutely nothing to anybody shows just how obsessive he really is.
