Shiloah Te'o transfers to Oregon St.

I've heard through the grape vine that Bronco helped him get into another school. Now it makes sense... Since Bronco and Mike(Oregon St.'s headcoach) are close friends, even their wives are close friends.

According to David, his son has been admitted to Oregon State and will enroll at OSU for a summer session beginning on June 21st.

I do agree with you on the whole Heaps topic, because he should be the starter, IMO. I even agree on the Kahuku pipeline. Just sitting back and watching is kinda humorous.

It's funny that Mars suggests that I made a "bitter" suggestion.... When it comes to bitter, my man, you take the cake.



I never said that BYU has or will cut ties to Kahuku; what I said was that I wonder if the drama is worth it and if BYU shouldn't consider it. They did in fact stop their recruiting of Tigi Hill..... so you do the math.



There's a reason some families and players leave the rock (i.e. Kahuku to play at Bingham, etc.)



For Jared Afalava.....He's a Bingham player not a Kahuku player, in fact he never played varsity ball for Kahuku and will be a junior at Bingham this fall.



I've said it before and I'll say it now, BYU has done more for Kahuku than Kahuku has ever done for BYU.



In the last few years, we've dealt with Shiloah Teo setting up a beerfest for Manti during their recruiting weekend, then Shiloah finding his own way out; concidentally setting up Haoli Jamora and Kona Schwenke to renig on their commitments.... if you don't think there's some tension between Kahuku and BYU, then you're crazier than we think you are.

Is that the "inside scoop"?? Shiloah torpedoed Jamora's & Schwenke's commits to BYU?? If so, Shiloah was a really bad seed! I'm glad he's gone. That's real crap!!!

Shiloah was Mantis escort for the terrible recruiting weekend and like I said back on cougarblue, the recruits (richard wilson, etc.) that I talked to put it on Shiloah and Manti. (Once again, Bronco took the high road and didn't out those kids by leaving the details under wraps)



I wouldn't pin the Jamora/Schwenke issues on Shiloah as much as the Kahuku following (they're all cousins/relatives). Many of them believe that BYU did both Teos wrong and that the coaching staff prefers Utah high school players and RMs over their boys. The Teo incidents were just the straw that put the other 2 over the edge.

At one point last summer both Kona and Haoli were both firm committments to BYU. Neither budged or took other trips until after the Shiloah incidents.



In spite of that, it seems that Bronco helped find Shiloah a home at his alma mater.



This isn't the 1st time BYU has had tension with Kahuku and Hawaii recruiting. Back in the Norm Chow days there were some politcal issues with recruiting out there too. I'm not sure what it is, but recruiting the islands has been quite the balancing act.

But MAN does Kahuku have the most BEAUTIFUL view from its crappy little 9 hole golf course. You forget how terribly its kept up because you're too busy in awe of how gorgeous the seascape is right next to it.
