Stadium Wishlist

I have completed my 3D modeling class and Lavell Edwards Stadium.



But I am looking to keep my revit skills up to date so I am thinking about drawing a new stadium that would include some of your wishlist ideas. So far I have backrests on the bleachers, resturant that views the field, and a "bowl" style stadium with a killer view of the wasatch mountain range



Any other ideas?

Escalators to the higher levels.

More bathrooms for women.

Let bottled water in.

I'd like to see an upper deck on the west side, club level between the upper and lower decks, and a redesigned press box. I'd also like to see a nice exterior facade, like what they did here at in Minnesota with TCF Bank Stadium:

I'd like to see a similar exterior to Minnesota's place or FSU... love the brick. But I do wonder if it could be pulled off at BYU, especially since it should have some connection to the rest of campus which means using that hideous Brown brick. Maybe you could somehow make it match Miller Park since they are right across the street from one another but also tie in a little of the brick from the MC. Then once the Track complex gets a lift, they could follow suit to tie that whole corner of campus together.



But I would really love to have a box or bowl type stadium (closed corners) only with an upper deck cantilevered out over the lower deck. A covered roof over the upper deck a la Huskey Stadium wouldn't be bad either... I couldn't care less about the weather but for propagating the noise down to the field would be great. And it would really be great to seat between 75-85K... but bare minimum 75K. If there were a way to preserve the views, great but if not... oh well. Fans need to be focused on the game when LES anyway.

By the way, I still can't figure out why they went with the red brick on Helaman Halls when no other building on campus has similar brick.

My wishlist

My first wish is to move the band. My second wish is to take the Allstate ad off of the field goal net.



My realistic wish is for an additional scoreboard that just shows stats the entire game. At UW's stadium they have one and it is nice to know how we are doing, rather than waiting until the random times during the game that the stats go up on the video board. Maybe also show scores from other games also.

Seat back on the bleachers like they have at Sam Boyd.

No bleacher's but chairs for all so the larger people know where their seat starts and ends with no spill over into my seat.

But, fat people are harder to kidnap and you can get to your vehicle before they do...if you don't get stuck behind them. :whistle:

A standing room only section of 2-5 rows of our loudest fans ringing the entire field. I want more NOISE! I don't know how you'd model noise though. ;)

Let's break Jerry Jone's record for the worlds largest video board.

Scanners at all the entrances. Not to detect metal but to detect those preppy Abercrombie boys with the popped collars. If the scanner goes off then that person is forced to either leave or buy a Fully Invested type shirt. Then his pink Holister shirt will be thrown in an incinerator and used to warm hot chocolate.

I like the stats video board idea.



Make the pitch slightly steeper (the Rose Bowl is incredibly flat and, with all due respect to the history of the place, the venue isn't that great for reg season fball games).



Instead of the poop brown brick, take a cue from the new building formerly known as the syphilis (SFLC). It almost looks like Herodian stone. Very similar design to the BYU Jerusalem Center. Arches in that stone resembling the Colosseum would be sweet.



I like the second tier on the westside. Put a better pressbox on top with all glass reflective front, so the student section can see the mountains behind the stadium. From late summer to early winter, those mountains make make LES among the best settings for football. Magnify that advantage.



Close in the corners to reduce the windchill (it's not as bad as Sam Boyd Stadium, but can still get pretty chilly).



Benches made of plastic rather than metal. Those things freeze your can so much you don't want to stand up.



Oh, and don't forget the cheap hotdogs.
