Hobson gone....

The MWC just got weaker, but the chance that BYU wins 30 games again, a MWC reg season and conf tourney championship just improved greatly. (Hobson was a legit game changer and a major matchup problem for us; without him their other guys come down to earth... they might be lucky to make the NCAAs now)



I wonder if Alford turning down the big overtures was a bad idea now.

So the outlook for the MWC this year was bright. Since then...



-BYU lost Loyd. And we were all bummed, but yet comforted with the bright hope that Jimmer should return.



-Utah lost 4 guys, including their best freshman, Marshall Henderson. I think Boilen has also lost his mind, incidentally.



-UNLV kicked a player -a starting senior- off the team for pot use.



-New Mexico lost sophomore guard Nate Garth, who is transferring to be closer to home. http://blogs.sltrib.com/byu/index.php?p=15628&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1

-Then the Lobos reportedly lost their STAR player, Hobson, to the NBA draft. http://blogs.sltrib.com/byu/index.php?p=15679&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1





Another BYU foe next year, Utah State, has kicked 4 players off of their team since the season ended, one of them a former bank robber, for drug use in Logan. Makes me realize that BYU has things pretty good compared to many schools nationally.

Utah State really holds their players to too high of a standard.
