Does this have anything to do with his brother at all? I mean I've heard things like BYU isn't going after him pretty strong, and maybe Michael wants to go play along with his brother or something. It's just strange that he does this now. Why even take that red shirt year? I dunno it just seems weird.

Dang it, I was really excited for his play at BYU. This of course means Fredette is coming back.

Lloyd will be missed. I really think he saved the Cougars in a couple of games toward the end of the season. I wish him the best of luck.

Wow! What a huge loss. BYU could have major back-up PG issues. I hope Jimmer's ready to play 39 minutes a game!

Just speculating, but Loyd might feel like he could be a starting PG somewhere else and knows that with Jimmer here that won't happen. You could take this as a sign that Jimmer is staying. Loyd was just starting to hit his stride at BYU though, that's a big loss.

Loyd is leaving, they say, because after three years in Provo, the native of Las Vegas has decided that he just doesn’t fit in, or can no longer fit in, for two more years. Obviously, BYU is not the easiest place to fit in for a non-LDS, African-American student-athlete. Some have done it, others haven't.

Loyd seemed to be doing OK in that regard the first half of his BYU career.

But insiders say Loyd was finding it harder and harder to fit in his third year than it was his first or second, for reasons probably only he can address. And BYU coaches were finding it harder and harder to look past some of Loyd’s actions.

Loyd wasn’t forced out, but he was given some ultimatums in regards to behavior, dress and appearance that he apparently decided he just couldn’t abide by.

Let’s put it this way: showing up on national television with a mohawk haircut for BYU’s NCAA Tournament games, or playing against Utah with a tongue piercing, probably didn’t help his cause.

That tongue piercing is news to me. Anybody else notice that during the Utah game?

And if he redshirted, won't he also lose a year of elegibility? So only one year to actually play wherever he goes? You get 5 years to play 4... right?

Wow this makes no sense at all. What a year the Cougs where setup for. The mohawk thing does not hold water with me. A couple of guys on the football team had that. So much more behind this one, what a rough off-season for BYU sports so far. Love watching loyd jr play, diff gonna miss him.

Not to mention that every non-white BYU player was sporting the same mohawk at the same time.....





......and then there's Noah Hartsock. He's been sporting the inverted mohawk since his first day on campus.

It could be because Lamont Morgan is graduating. They did together those KBYU commericals dressed up as old guys.

Well Anson Winder and Kyle Collinsworth better be ready to help run point next year.

Actually I believe those commercials were Charles and Lamont in those commercials then again I guess I could be wrong... :skeptic:
