Isn't it just 4 play in games with the winner of each playign each bracket's number one seed?

The bottom eight teams could play each other to play the 1 seeds. That won't necessarily be the case though, I don't think...

And how many of those 3 extra bids go to teams from non-BCS conferences?!!! I bet they push the bottom conferences down another rung while they grant teams from BCS conferences one more needless chance. :sick: I think the play in game is one game too many, now they are adding 3 more. Unbelieveable.

They are called fishtail brackets in wrestling and they play for the opportunity to play the highest seeded teams. I really like it. What I hope that dawns on them is the idea that they should play those first four games on the same floor as where the champ game was going to be played. Starting and ending the tourney on the same court would be a pretty cool touch I think. They could even throw in an openning ceremony because of doing that. I also hope they change to calling them opening or prelim round instead of play-in games. I think calling them play-in belittles the game because it makes them seem to not be part of the tourney.

The best thing about this deal is that all games will be available in their entirety for everyone. For example, even though I currently live in Ohio, I can watch the BYU game on one of 4 channels.

I really like the idea of 4 "opening games". There is talk that instead of the bottom 8 auto-qualifiers facing off for 16 seeds to face a 1 seed, that we might even see the last 8 at-larges face off for 9 seeds to face an 8 seed. That idea is very viewer-friendly, kind of like a very real Bracket Busters aspect of the new March Madness.

And I agree, being able to watch EVERY game of the Big Dance in its entirety is extremely exciting! No more switching around by region, score disparity, and time left on the clock. Good stuff!

I'm also very glad that the rotten 4-letter network didn't win broadcasting rights this go around. Screw those biased chumps!

All games in their entirety is the biggest deal to me...that and they didn't expand it to 96 teams.
