Uona K Leaving for a Mission?

TBS looks to be reporting that he is leaving for a mission. Anyone hear that? If so, can he leave today? Also he has a younger brother called Junior. Is he a future recruit?

Uona has decided to serve a mission. He is working with his Bishop on getting his papers together to leave in the near future. They are hoping he can leave for the MTC by September.



Uona's brother, Junior, is a safety that was going to be invited to walk-on. The coaches have decided to offer him a scholarship for this Fall if he can get a couple of classes finished up and get his endorsement from the Bishop.

Awesome. Congrats to Uona.



Is Junior a good player? Anyone know?

That's awesome! I'm glad to hear he's entertaining this idea.



I don't know how long he spent at USC or how old he is, but to think he's been under Pete C.'s coaching philosophy(which has obviously been successful AND he's a talented enough athlete to even be on Pete's team) and soon will begin a two year journey that will make him tons more maturer.



I can't wait to see how great he'll be when he shakes off the mission rust and brings this talent to the football field.

Keep in mind, that means we only have to wait 2 years rather than the 1 he'd have to sit out anyhow; and the message is sent out that prospective missionaries are better served by attending BYU rather than the Pac 10/Notre Dame etc. You'll always have the option at BYU and it will be respected.
