BYU is the most easily recognized school that's non-BcS, despite BSU, Utah, TCU, EDIT: Bronco knows best & I hope they extend his contract soon.

Considering the title was taken from words Bronco himself spoke about BYU in the article, I have zero problem with the title, and think the Schlabach article is solid and well done.

Something I honestly haven't considered until now, "Regardless of which player wins the starting job this fall, Mendenhall said he hasn’t eliminated the idea of playing more than one quarterback this coming season.



“I wouldn’t rule it out,” Mendenhall said. “I’d prefer to have a single quarterback and single starter, but I couldn’t rule it out.”



Like Urban playing two qb's... What say ye fellow Cougar brothers????

I've said it before and still believe it, Bronco is 100% trustworthy, Anae is close to that. I'll stand by it since I think it would still be 1 QB mostly, but they'd let Nelson in more vice versa. I felt like Riley should've come in a lot more last year but whatever works. As soon as they start flip-flopping every other series like Crowton did, that's when Questions will start to arise. Either way you look at it BYU is coming out of 2010 with 10 wins.

This sounds a lot different from what Curtis Brown, Austin Collie, and Max Hall had to say about Utah and the MWC in years past.

I would like to see two of them in at the same time. I could see Riley under center with Heaps behind him. The defense doesn't know if Riley will take the snap and run, take the snap and drop back and pass, or take the snap, flip it back to Heaps to pass, or hand it off to the other back. Or- i could see Heaps under center with much the same options to confuse the defense, maybe a backwards pass to Riley who then passes it downfield. There are a lot of options with such a setup.

There's a reason we don't pull too much crap like that - it just takes so long to develop that a good defense (like ours in '06) will have no problem stopping it, and a good, fast defense (like TCU usually has) will have time to get down on their knees and thank you for calling such a slow developing play before they sack every single person in the backfield, whether they have the ball or not.

No, sorry it's not Gary. But strangely enough I did go to LSU for med school after BYU.



Enjoyed the video. (What Cougar fan wouldn't) - proves nothing about how a good offense with Unga also in the backfield could handle such talent.

I think Heaps wins he job in Fall camp, but Nelson will get a few series or plays to switch things up, and to utilize Nelson's abilities. Said it before, but it is easier to play 2 QB's when the starter is a true freshman than it is when he is a 5th year Senior starting for the 3rd straight season.
