Every Mtn. Football Game in HD This Season

Games in HD, professional comentators...? has nobody thought about burning the mtn broadcasting center down?

You can complain all you want about the MTN, but for those of us outside of the Mountain West footprint, what has happened is that now we can watch ALL of BYU's football and basketball games. In the past, we were lucky to to get one or two of each a year.

Amen and Amen. It's the only way I can counter my son's little redneck friends from influencing him to be a 'Bama fan. The Vegas bowl and basketball game we saw while we were out in Utah helped, but watching the basketball season on the MTN has been great. Having all the football games in HD will be awesome :love: :love: :love: --especially because I can mute my TV when a certain announcer gets to be more than I can bear. :sick:

HD is GREAT! the mountain cameras were HORRRIBLE! now if we could just get rid of most of their commentators and get someone in there who is not an idiot and we would be good.

This is a great step in the right direction for the Mtn. They will be able to afford better talent once the Mtn gets more exposure, and all football games in HD is a good step.



The bottom line is that anyone can watch every football game if they are willing to pay the right company the right amount of money, and now they can watch it in HD.

I only have an issue with 1 Mtn commentator, and it is because he tends to get a bit verbose. Otherwise, they do a decent job. Blaine Fowler is good and so is James Bates. His call on the Beck to Harline was CLASSIC. Now if you want to talk about the halftime studio guys, you'll get my attention. They are pretty bad.

Agreed. For all the flack that these guys get, it's the in-studio folks who in my opinion are the ones who would be the first to be replaced. But they should be the easiest to ignore. Obviously, I can understand why the Todd gets under people's skin but it's less so when he starts into prose for me as when he tries to be "objective" and goes out of his way to not be a BYU homer. Other than that I think Fowler is great and like Bates enough. Occasionally he starts to annoy when he tries to appeal to the younger crowd with his movie quotes and music references. But overall nearly all the Mtn broadcasters at least know the teams and players the cover. You can't say that about ESPN, Fox and CBS (except Phil Simms but he does the NFL).

I'm a stranger to cable/satellite, and wondering about costs. Just got an offer from Comcast, the level of service that includes the mtn special offer 6 mo. for $30/mo, $60/mo after that.



Called DirectTV, the rep and and supervisor couldn't find the mtn on their list, said it wasn't offered in Utah. Glad they're on the ball...



How much does directv with the mtn cost, assuming i could find a sales rep who knew what he was talking about?

Family Pack is $29.99

Sports pack is $13.99 (that's where the MTN and CBS College Sports is).

Add another $10.00 for HD, and that should get you most of the Football games in HD. That price will not change.



I know for new subscribers you can get the Choice Package (so that you get most of the ESPN's etc.) for the price of the family package for a year or so. Then you can down grade if your wife can live without USA, TNT, Discovery, TLC, etc. The DVR has helped me overcome my downgrade blues. Overall, I am very satisfied with DirectTV, and my wife said I can even upgrade the next time I get a raise. I really am an addict. When I get home from a trip, or no one is home but me, I just want to go up to my 52" and veg.

In Utah, the MTN is part of the basic/family Total Choice package. You do not need to get the sports pack to get access to it. The MTN is channel 616 if the clowns on the phones can't find it.

Get it on Dish Network.



Get it on Comcast in all markets.





DirectTV sucks. I will not switch from Dish Network, so hopefully someday it will be on there. Comcast is not in my area.



If Comcast demands that DirectTV and Dish Network broadcast the Mtn nationwide, why don't they do that themselves? Comcast provides service in a lot of areas outside of the MWC footprint where they do not have the Mtn available.

If not for the MTN I would get nothing on any Mountain West Team in South Florida.

I have season tickets so I am only affected by road games on the Mtn. Last season had the most, but this year there is only one. So I'll go watch the game at one of my family members houses.



The main thing that sucks is no BYU basketball and I would probably watch most of the other MWC football games on the Mtn.



If I lived out of state I would probably have Dish Network and DirectTV...(you never know when Direct is going to drop VS, the Mtn, or CBSCS)
