No bye?

Greg Wrubell in his blog notes that three MWC teams--Air Force, CSU, and Wyoming--will each play 12 straight games without a bye. AFA, for example, will play its last game on Thursday, Nov. 18.



I would think BYU would not agree to do this, for two reasons: A bye is a useful time to recuperate and regroup, and finishing early gets you out of the public eye too soon. By the time league championships are played, for example, Air Force will have been finished with football for two and a half weeks.



Do any of you see any advantage to playing without a bye?

I see no advantage whatsoever. And extra week midseason to get guys healthy is a bonus. Obviously, those guys lacked scheduling flexibility.

The only disadvantage to having a bye? Having to wait two weeks between Byu football games 8) 8) 8)

I'd like to see BYU use TWO bye weeks - one the end of Sept, after 4 OOC games, before the conference season starts, and then on the end of Oct / beginning of Nov, like we usually do. And then have our last game of the year the very end of Nov or beginning of Dec.

I thought conference play started the second game of the season this year. (@AFA)
